The Server Power Control plugin for LMS has a System Idle Monitor section that allows an activity threshold for disk, CPU and network that prevents shutdown. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Prevent shutdown of server while clients connected
Hello all. I'm new to this forum and was hoping to get some advice regarding shell script code to check if LMS is 'serving' content and to prevent shutdown if that's the case. I have a mediapc running mythtv and xbmc etc on an unbuntu machine. It's a bit of a hog, so I have it set to standby when not in use by recordings or streaming to front end for living room tv etc. I have no logitech hardware, but am using various software players on wireless hardware throughout my house. I'm currently having to ssh into the server as I have a condition in mythfrontend script that waits for ssh sessions to finish before allowing standby. THen when done streaming audio, I have to remember to stop that so that the machine can go to sleep. I'd really like to avoid all that (especially as without the ssh session from the computer, there's no way of keeping the server on if I want to stream remotely to my phone etc - it will time out after a few minutes.) Does anyone know of commands or code that would appear in running proccesses that I can use for a script to watch for? I've looked myself and the various processes that show up are related to preference file and plugins - nothing that seems to change or suggest a difference when a player is connected and streaming audio. Yes I definitely unchecked it on the web interface, applied/restarted, but it returned, possibly because it is installed as an "Extra" in the Controller. I re-enabled the plugin to clear the paths in the "Picture Gallery" settings, applied, then disabled the plugin again (looks like Image Browser has nothing to do with it, only "Picture Gallery"). My Controller still lists the plugin under Extras, but if selected it just spins forever until you hit the back button. I let it go for quite a while and it never timed out on it's own. I would like to just completely remove the plugin from my Controller/LMS server, but haven't figured out how to do that yet. I don't recall if this was something in there by default, or if I had to manually add it at some point (it's been years since I messed with any of this stuff on that level). Also worth mentioning, "Image Browser" did not return to the active plugins list, only "Picture Gallery". I've been so happy with LMS I bought a Transporter and a Raspberry Pi3 with HifiBerry Digi Pro +. I feed my headphones with it using Squeezelite on a laptop and get incredible fidelity. I remember originally coming to this web site and reading all the networking problems and frustration with certain users, but decided to try it anyway. I started with a Duet and really had few if any problems, generally finding an answer here. I love the DAC in the Transporter but using the HifiBerry card want to try newer DACs. LMS when installed properly is a wonder and that is a product of the developers, bless 'em. The directory name is "Ladies & Gentlemen, The Best Of George Michael For The Heart". But you were right, that was a problem with the directory name. I just renamed the directory "Ladies & Gentlemen, The Best Of George Michael For The Heart" to "cd1" using the mv command, did a library rescan and noticed it was ok. So I renamed "cd1" to the original name, run a rescan, and it's still ok. I did the same with the other album and it solved the problem too. 21826 I suppose there was a problem with the directory names. The directory tree is synchronized with rsync from another computer running linux, but that shouldn't cause any problem. That's strange. no bug in LMS :D Thanks a lot for your patience and support ! Interesting that this post mentions all radios playing on their own as well. Unfortunately, there is no real solution mentioned in that thread. I also cannot even find where I set those paths to begin with. If it happens with audio files as well as plugins then it is a network issue. If it only happens with GPM plugin then it is more likely to be a plugin issue and a post on the GPM thread may be more useful.
