Same thing happened to me with Avast and the auto install which was caught mid-stream by Avast and corrupted the current install of LMS. Had to uninstall and do a clean install of the LogitechMediaServer-7.9.1-1508904967 version to get back up and running. Why is version LogitechMediaServer-7.9.1-1513951369 coming up as infected? If I shut down LMS, how can I access the vortexbox appliance box? Sorry dumb question . Are you able to point the path of where the cache folder is? When I delete those 2 files, restart and the 2 files will rebuild or do I need to do a clear library and re-scan? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Constantly crashing server (database image malformed)
For several years now, my LMS stops out of the blue and I have to delete all the .db files and rebuild from scratch. I've tried all sorts of things like try pinkdot's LMSupdate package, Synology's beta package (I'm currently running 7.9.1-166 on a Synology DS1511+) but the end result is always the same. I'll be playing a song and it will just stop and give me the following errors and the only option is to rebuild. This happens at least once a week and I'm basically at the end of my rope. Is there anything anyone can suggest that might fix this? I just saw this thread and was wondering if your experience with not being able to play AIFF ripped in iTunes on 7.9 was shared by many others? I was just about ready to update to LMS 7.9.1 until I saw this. Most all of my music has been ripped in iTunes and I also use iPeng and sometimes Squeezepad. Currently I am running LMS 7.7.5 and everything works fine ie, I am able to play my AIFF files. Your solution looks reasonable but I'm not sure if I want to go through that process. Not even sure what I will gain by upgrading. I don't follow this forum closely so I don't know if your situation was unique or if a bunch of people had a similar experience. using "one list for all artists" instead of "one for albumartists and one for artists" is very helpful. Try the one list setting... I do have a recurring problem with tracks that do not have albums, sth which I have also asked about 'here' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107646-Why-aren-t-all-artists-displayed): There is no entry for Hopkin - and many other artists - under 'artists' because i have no album of her. I cannot find these artists scrolling through the 'artist's list. Please see that I have tagged her as 'album artist' in an attempt to cope with LMS's inconsistencies. If you look at the screenshot below, you will find that Hopkin's song does not appear as a track associated with her. Instead, clicking on the artist's name results in an 'album' where all artists that have tracks without an album are cluttered together. Yes, not a problem. Touch *might* need to downgrade it's firmware when connecting to 7.7.5, then upgrade firmware when connecting to 7.9.1.
