[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New pCP 4.0.0 install with LMS 7.9.2 - LMS won't start after last night's update
Had issues with my pi3 since pCP update to 4.0.0 earlier in the week (posted in pCP thread) and ended up with SD card clean and new pCP 4.0.0 image install, then new LMS 7.9.2 install, set up etc. Was working After last night's LMS update I am unable to start LMS. Not sure if it is pCP 4 issue or LMS. Anyone else have a problem? Have poswted also in pCP thread. You guys are usually good enough with problems/solutions that by the time I'm ready to post something you have it fixed... Having a similar issue. Need to go in/out of Pandora (like play a song, then come back to Pandora), or fast-forward four or five songs to get Pandora to work. No new toys on the network; have a Touch, Boom, Radio, and depending on time of day two Classics hooked up. All act the same way. Only oddity is that I have SqueezePlay on my Android phone; wondering if it "pretending" to be a LMS client is creating issues. I'll try the cache file, and log file, see what's happening, but you're not alone. Happened on 7.7.6 and 7.8.0 (currently running.) Let me know if I can provide any additional info to help out! -Andy andybflo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68321 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108502 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

LMS has an MP3 output stream http://:9000/stream.mp3 which you can treat as a player. I'm sure you already know how to save an MP3 internet stream. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109295 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is there a way to do a mic input to the server so can play on devices?
I got a Y cable on it and there is about a 2 sec. delay if that. Not much but it don't matter to me. Happy it's working. Doesn't this cover the situation where one already owns a copy of the music/video (i.e. timeshifting or backup), rather than recording from a stream? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is there a way to do a mic input to the server so can play on devices?
Many ways to do the same thing. I think addgroup command can also be used to add user to a group - in this case audio. On some system the delay between a sound on input and being heard on a SB player can vary between about 0.2sec to 5-10 secs depending on some system settings, network and player buffering. Some users have asked to use line-in for playback of videos but audio & video will be out of sync. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109293 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is there a way to do a mic input to the server so can play on devices?
Looked it up on Google and I think his is the one command would use to add music to LMS. Code: usermod -a -G music squeezeboxserver I all ready did it in Webmin so not sure if this would work. But that is what got LMS to start playing from the MIC input on my server. -Raymond Day Raymond Day's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1332 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109293 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] SqueezeSrv.exe won't stop and can't be killed
You mentioned all threads are terminating except one. Did you look at its stack e.g. using Process Explorer? Maybe it gives a hint what it's doing or waiting for. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109290 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is there a way to do a mic input to the server so can play on devices?
Looking up how to add user music on Google but never found it. Went in Webmin under "System" then "Users and Groups" clicked on "squeezeboxserver" and under "Secondary groups" has a log list can add under "All groups" I seen "audio" and click the right arrow to add it to "In groups" clicked Save. Then in LMS click the play and it started to work. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is there a way to do a mic input to the server so can play on devices?
Did what you said but it still does not work. I tested little changes in the wavin: plughw:1,0 like you said no space. I did that and the most it will look like it plays is 3 sec. But no sound at all. 25384 That is what it looks like now. Maybe it is some music permissions. How do I check that and save it? Thanks I think all most got this working. -Raymond Day +---+ |Filename: LMS WaveInput not working.jpg| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=25384| +---+ Raymond Day's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1332 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109293 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Recording played music
not for private purpose. it would be illegal if you distribute or sell the music without owning the rights or a licence to do so this applies to germany and some other european countries. However, I do not know how it is in the US with it https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privatkopie olivaar's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64848 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109295 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

So the Favorite "wavin:" URL needs the Alsa device which you use - "pluginhw:1,0" so the Favorite wavin URL should be wavin:plughw:1,0 A few other "Gotchas" * Is LMS running as a service or under a different userid ? If so make sure the userid which runs LMS has "audio" provileges so that it can access the audio hardware (this permnission may vary according to distro) - * ALSA card number can vary depending on USB devices inserted and the order of insertion. Make sure the card and device number are correct at time of test bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109293 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Looked at http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/WaveInput_plugin and had to add under "Favorites:" a name of "WaveInput" and url of "wavin:0" But I get no counter moving. Tested changing the URL to "wavin:1" and the counter goes to just 3 sec. then quits. I hear no sound. This will show a lot a screen shot of my LMS. 25383 Guess it's some setting on the command line.
