Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugins
Static IP addresses should always be outside the dhcp scope! Alternative is to use a feature like IP bind to make sure a device always gets the same IP. Disadvantage by uses this feature is that if you change router you have to make sure to copie entire IP bind table. Advantage of the feature is that all setting for a device are automatically done right. So if you would change dns you don't have to change all static devices. *SqueezeBoxes:* 2x SB2 (Living room and study), 1x Radio (Kitchen), 1x Boom (Dining room), 1x piCorePlayer (jacuzzi), 1x piCorePlayer (Garden) 1x OSMC + Squeezelite (Movie room), 1x Touch (Bedroom) *Server:* LMS on Pi3 7.9.1. on PcP 3.21 *Network:* AVM Fritzbox, D-Link Smart Switch 24p, 3x Ubiquity edwin2006's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66926 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109709 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Error: Can't connect to remote server to retrieveā¦.
I'm running LMS 7.9.1 on a Mac, 10.11.6, El Capitain Responses point to a possible outdated SSL. I updated IO::Socket::SSL to 2.060 and Net::SSLeay to 1.85 but still cannot connect. As outlined before, this is a problem with El Capitan being outdated in some aspect(s). I tried to pull some of those URLs using curl, and it failed in similar ways. It might be the openssl implementation used on El Capitan - in which case updating the Perl modules wouldn't help. From your previous postings it wasn't clear to me what exactly you tried: you mentioned a new Perl version as well as updating the two modules mentioned above. Were these two independent attempts? Maybe you should look into updating OpenSSL? And your thread title should be a bit more specific, or it will soon be "spammed" with lots of totally unrelated issues... -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Don't worry too much about that error message ... it happens a lot without any obvious side-effects (here at least). Probably best to start a new thread with what you see as the problem with your plugin(s) - and people can advise on what to do next to diagnose and resolve. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS won't recognize music folder
Go into Settings -> Basic Settings tab. What does it show in the "Media Folders" for your music folder? Sometimes when a drive is removed and then re-plugged it may get a different drive letter than it had previously. Verify that what you have specified here matches what Windows Explorer shows for your drive/folder where your music lives. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS won't recognize music folder
Sorry if this has been posted/discussed elsewhere but I didn't see it... Running LMS in Windows 7 for a transporter connected via wifi. Normally works more or less fine (garbled artists name etc. but what else is new) but since yesterday it will not recognize my music folders anymore from my external HD. Scanning for music doesn't access folder there so no music is shown/displayed in media scan detail. It does recognize folders on laptop or USB stick but not from the external HD. Can access external HD without problems via media player (yes, I still use that) or manually but LMS doesn't seem to 'see' the folders. No OS update made (as far as I know) so I am stumped. Any suggestions are welcome...scanned ports (I think) and didn't see anything out of place either. Tried different USB port with same result. Also ran cleanup with no change... Disabling shuffle after the playlist has been shuffled for the first time would prevent this. That's what I was considering doing, too. Yes, but the songs get placed in the original order again. That's the compromise you'd have to live with. The limitation here is that LMS does not actually shuffle the playlist, but only creates an additional index, taking precedence over the original order. digimaster wrote: > You must setup one spotify accont in LMS. > And after that, and enable spotify connected on the player page. > Then it works. My original question regarding this was to avoid this. Pre-registering Spotify accounts is not required if players can be announced on the local network. This is however only possible on a few platforms due to interference with the avahi-service. The QNAP-platform is one of those with this problem, hence my question if this was something you could look into. Running Spotify without the need of pre-registering accounts or without the need to select an account for each player would greatly enhance/simplify the usage. It seems you were on to how to do this but then stopped, thinking this was not needed. I read it as you did not fully understand the difference of locally announce all Players to all Spotify apps on the LAN vs. explicitly announcing a specific Player to a specific Spotify account on the WAN.
