[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Alarm Stream Switching to Disco at the Same Time Every Morning

2019-03-04 Thread agbagb

I know ALARM can be a quirky function; and I know using a radio stream
as the alarm adds to that quirkiness. However:

Attached is a log of what is odd behavior on a Radio every morning for
the past few days. Essentially, I go to sleep with a BBC R3 stream from
LMS until SLEEP cuts it out at 0230. Then ALARM is set for 0730,
running a BBC R4 stream (i.e. runs until manually stopped). Almost
always works fine **Until 0817 every morning**, when it switches to
the Disco Blast (which at least now runs quietly, since finding that
useful Reduce Volume patch).

Ideas welcome.

Thanks, but before your last reply I tried uninstalling and reinstalling
LMS. Something went wrong and I had to unintstall the service manually
but I am now up and running again.

Im feeling a bit daft. I dont seem to be able to find this
functionality when browsing the album in my Music Folder.
Would someone be willing to provide some more instructions or post a
screenshot.
Ive looked in my Squeezbox Touch menus and in iPeng for

Which is an excellent idea IMHO. I do that every time I've added or
changed some album or tracks (and no need to force anything, simply open
the album in the "Music Folder" menu). Perfect when I've done some
simple change like added or replaced the album cover graphic. It's
quick, only affect that album and nothing else AFAICT.
I rarely use the full re-scan, perhaps once a year at most, and never
the partial re-scan.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Server No Longer Starts

2019-03-04 Thread elziko

I have been using LMS on my WIndows 10 box for several years without any
problem and I'm currently running v7.9.1. However, after an update,
Windows has installed "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809" and,
incidently or not LMS will no longer start. When I try and start as a
service I just see the following line in the server.log:

server.log wrote:
>
> [19-03-04 13:20:19.0676] main::init (387) Starting Logitech Media Server

> MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
>

I don't see anything after that and the service fails to start with
Windows showing a dialog stating that LMS "started and then stopped". I
don't have much to go on in the log, does anyone have any suggestions
what I could do next please?

Thanks!

This, a different hard disk or the same one after a format will have a
different uuid.

A friend (a weird concept for some to accept, I know :p) had a
similar problem (with pcp/LMS on a rpi3B).

He had removed the usb hard disk, done a format and then reloaded his
files.

He had to make a fresh install of the USB disk (I think there should be
a tick box to remove the previous installation).

I don't know why this would stop LMS from starting though  (I
don't recall my friend complaining about that)

It’s a network bandwidth usage problem. You can always use a more
powerful cpu system, while BW is ‘finite’.

You can’t avoid transcoding as the audio must always be the same sample
rate, size, channels and a continuous flow of audio, so I can’t just
merge files.

In the first case yes. In the second case, I selected an empty location for the
