Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] C-3PO plugin, a trnscoding helper.
Almost forgot one more thing: Most DFF files play OK (besides not being at 48kHz), but some are not, player just jumps through album tracks to the end of album. The same tracks steam OK through picorePlayer to my other USB DAC. Might be again DSDPlayer issue, assuming it takes priority to c-3PO. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] C-3PO plugin, a trnscoding helper.
Hi, may be somebody here will be so nice to help me to solve some of my transcoding troubles with c-3po. What I am trying to accomplish is to resample everything to 48kHz for particular player in my setup. The player in question is the old Squeezebox v3. The reason for this resampling is that i want to drive my miniDSP DDRC-24 (DRC Dirac / DAC box) at 48kHz because it's internal ASRC is not very good, so it is recommended to run it at its internal sampling rate of 48kHz. (Details: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/measurements-of-minidsp-2x4hd.2459/page-2). I already had DSDPlayer setup and working before adding c-3po, as I do have some DSD64 as DSF and DFF files. So setup c-3po, activated it only for the squeezebox driving miniDSP, configured it as shown in attached screen shots and it seems to work, but with a couple of issues. 349933499434995 1. No scrolling possible when playing FLAC. When I try to scroll the player jumps to next track. Otherwise the output is at 48kHz, as i want it 2. DSD is converted down to 44,1kHz, not 48kHz, but scrolling works. Is this because DSD is routed through DSD Player and not c-3PO? And if this is the case, can I disable DSDPlayer just for this one squeezebox (I know, might be a wrong thread to ask)? Any help is greatly appreciated Cheers Daniel +---+ |Filename: Bildschirmfoto 2021-06-15 um 15 Juni 18.41.29.png| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=34995| +---+ BiBer3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71556 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105309 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

The PCp player includes Samba which will allow window 10 system to connect to the pi. I also use my windows system to add music and also use the hard drive attached to the pi as a on-site backup. I am not a Linux expert and I was able to set it up and use it. You will need a pi, case, and power supply. If you are concerned about electric use and heat, you might want a pi 3B. If you want a faster USB hub and want the latest get a 4. Read through the Pi core player documentation, it is not difficult but you do need atttention to syntax details. I had put off the transition to the pi, but wish I did it sooner as I am very happy with the little box that take up little space, makes no sound, and uses a lot less electricity than running a larger computer. okay, on a boom alarm 1 set for 7:49 alarm 2 set for 7:51 global alarm timeout of 1 minute alarm 1 triggered at 7:49 and sounded for 1 minute then 1 minute of silence then, at 7:51 the second alarm sounded and lasted for 1 minute. so the "alarm time out" setting is a global setting for each individual alarm. second test.. alarm 1 set for 7:56 alarm 2 set for 7:58 global alarm timeout of 10 minutes result alarm one triggered at 7:56 and played for 2 minutes alarm two triggered at 7:58 cancelling out alarm #1 alarm two played for 10 minutes until 8:08 The real test ( after tonights server shut down and tomorrow morning restart ) will be tomorrow morning. Having an optional separate timeout for each alarm is not a bad idea. You could then use it to program a whole day of listening. Is that possible @mherger ? An alternative to a Pi based solution could be a CORE32 from Polyvection. It is probably dearer than a Pi based solution but the aim is to be easier to setup but may have limitations to achieve that . First units have not been delivered (shipping promised about now - 3rd week of June) so you'll have to wait for real user opinions. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?114103-CORE32-Energy-Efficient-LMS-Music-Server bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114718 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

The minimum that you need is a Raspberry Pi (probably a 4 or a 3) and a power supply. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plugins not updating
It just looked too hard. give picoreplayer.org a try - it's linux optimized to run Squeezelite and/or LMS on a Pi. The NAS is a bit power hungry to have on all the time, so would be looking at having my files on a USB HDD plugged into the Pi. Can that HDD be accessed via a windows PC on the same network ? ( to add new music ) Yes, this can be set up. Any clues on what I would need ? I'd recommend a Pi4 with 2GB of RAM, and a good case. I'm using the popular Flirc case, as it's cooking the CPU well. ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Maybe a Boom is different. Then I set the timeout to 60 minutes and set the same two alarms to 1 7.42 2 7.45 This time when the second alarm fired it was paused.
