Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Gapless / Not Gapless
Thank you for your posts. I have been using LMS for many years and problems usually occur when upgrading my MacBook. For example: LMS 7 stopped working in Big Sur, but luckily LMS 8 appeared. The described problem appeared when I bought a new Mac (Air, M1 processor, Big Sur). Nothing else changed in my setup. Sometimes, not always, the Mac responds too slowly to commands from LMS. So my question is whether there is a setting in LMS or in Mac that can fix this. FWIW: I granted "guest" on the NAS read-only access to the default "music" share and don't use any credentials on the pcp side. I noticed that a MAC at home had appeared in LMS as an AirPlay speaker. Tried playing to it via LMS AirPlay Bridge and no sound comes out of the MAC. I do see a pop-up on the MAC asking for permission for an AirPlay source to send it stuff - which I accepted. My guess is that it requires it to talk AirPlay 2 which the bridge cannot do. I remember I would constantly glance to see how many minutes in I was :) There was also an issue, which I think (?) has been resolved as part of reliable/LMS 8.2 where if I paused/stopped for a long time (say hours) the podcast spot would also be lost, and resume would be from the beginning. Not sure if this was ever addressed (just can't remember**), but I do know that you can used the "recently played" to resume. ** The reason this escapes me is I go back and forth between two LMS systems, and therefore, can't/don't take the podcast history listening with me... [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] MacBook as airplay device
I typically stream via airplay currently using LMS to my airport express. Works fine. MacOS Monterey introduced the MacBook to be an airstream receiver. The same MacBook is my LMS. Using the iPad to use the web player it sees the MacBook as the receiver but the song doesn’t start to play and nothing heard. Appreciate this is a new thing for MAcOS but wondered if there is anything preventing it working? Is it because LMS is the server on the same Mac? It’s not a situation I use that often so I’m not too fussed, but wondered if people experience the same. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Error scanning file or folder: /music: Permission denied - Synology NAS
Hi sota, thanks for the link - I do have my folder permissions configured as shown in the PDF that you linked to. I'm using the IP address for my NAS in the NFS rule shown there. I also added one with the /24 at the end per the PDF suggestion, but no change. Not sure about the user portion there after the folder setup. I created this using the admin account which does have permissions set as the PDF in the link shows (has read/write permissions to the folder that I created named 'musicshare'). A bit perplexed on the permissions error here. spacetaxi33's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72358 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115540 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Strangely enough QLMS will do nothing with the SSOTS/SSODS directories. The same with the SlimServer/ directory. But is previous settings are lost, you could check if a backup is made. In ssh shell do "ls $(/bin/acho /share/*/Public)" Now look at the files QLMS_BCKUP_?.?.tgz. If they are files called like that write done the latest name, go to "cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer". No error check is QLogitechMediaServer.sh exist by doing "ls". If it exist do the following command " ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restore ../../Public/QLMS_BCKUP_?.?.tgz", where the ? are replaced with the numbers a the newest file. This will restore the latest settings and plugins friom that backup file. And then a remark, please on error send me QLogitechMediaServer.log.err and QLogitechMediaServer.log. Without those i can't help in any way. snoopstaa wrote: > After installing QLMS 2.25 my error logs returned the same as mucbox's > issue and my Slimserver folder location was wiped too. > > Code: > > [QLogitechMediaServer] error: \e[41mThere is a error on Perl !\e[0m > Error the [\e[41m/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer\e[0m] is not monunted in chroot! > > > QTS 4.x and QLMS 2.25 is not working for me, I had to downgrade back > to QLMS 2.21 by manually downloading the .qpkg from > https://www.qnapclub.eu/en/qpkg/545, uninstall QLMS 2.25 and then > installing QLMS 2.21, then worked but had lost all previous config. * maintainer of QLogitechMediaServer, QOptware-NG and QAutoSub. Then double check the basic permissions. I grant "guest" read only access. For the Remote Libraries, is there a way that I could disable those instances? Since they are redundant.
