Lots of references to Radio Paradise streams in that log, but that's to be expected, if you were trying to reload them. The log begins with a reboot at 12:39 pm on March 28. @RobbH Thanks for the thoughts, I'll give them some consideration. BTW, my log file is attached to an earlier post. Im not a great log file interpreter. :o My LMS is running fine, I just cannot queue radio stations, no big deal. I also don't mind rebuilding a test system on a pi3B+ that I have laying around. I am going to basically build a new system to see if I can replicate what I did to get me to this point. Its not time wasted I hope to get back to investigating the issues that you and i witnessed with multiple stations in the queue. I don't think it's exclusive to Radio Now Playing. I found that regular streams, RP streams, and RNP streams all behaved differently. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] I broke LMS, How did I do it?, Can I fix without reinstalling?
This reminds me of the issues I encountered at some point, which I mentioned in the Radio Now Playing thread, but it's not exactly the same. In my case, rebooting the Pi fixed the problem. That was on a Pi running the Raspberry Pi OS, not pCP. I wish I had some constructive ideas for you. As it is, all I can do is pass along some random thoughts and things I might try, without any good reason. In the current server log, do you find any references to the RP streams at times when they should not be in the queue? Rather than trying to reload the RP streams, can you put some local files in the queue, let them play through, and after play ends, reboot the pCP? Before you resort to rebuilding the system from scratch, it might be interesting to try re-installing LMS as an upgrade or downgrade and see if that makes any difference. That's all pretty much irrational experimentation, just in case something should happen to work. Things I would try in the absence of any good ideas. I hope you find something that helps! I searched for "server" and "log" via windows. Maybe someone else knows where they are stored on a pCP and what they are called, or maybe I'll poke around the pCP help site. Well, I am the self proclaimed "king of the run on sentence" I never met a comma I couldn't place :o I apologize, I did the best I could, but a multistep process created the situation. I'll also stop using "broke", let's call it "altered" (in case I offended anyone) Can you reproduce this with _any_ radio stream, or is this specific to RP streams? Yes, Once altered, I cannot add more than one of any radio stream to the queue. And by wiping the queue your LMS would be working again, right? Nope, permanently altered, which is what I restarted/reinstalled plugin, etc. I see no recovery other than reinstalling LMS...which is why I asked. I don't see where you "broke LMS". You hit some corner case which causes unexpected behaviour in an unexpected use case. But LMS would still mostly work perfectly fine, right? I love LMS :) But once "altered" LMS works fine, except this one (seldom used) use case (add multiple streams to the queue). This is why I am not asking for anyone to spend time on it. But, I did create an unrecoverable situation as a user, and I thought that might be worth chasing down. So I'll ask again... what does not work (besides queuing up RP stations)? Why don't you clear the playlist, which you said did work? queuing up more than one of ANY stations. My altered LMS will allow the queue to work fine with music files, but will only add one radio stream. Trying to add more adds the empty objects (see first post). To be 100% clear, I just discovered having multiple radio stations in the queue as a pseudo preset list. But @RobbH and I saw some abnormal operations with multiple radio streams in the queue (now playing timing/song info got out of wack). It was discussed on material and Radio Now Playing threads. I was trying to precisely recreate those abnormality (to report them) and I inadvertently created "altered". FINALLY, I SUGGEST UNLESS ANYONE KNOWS AN \"AH-HA\" WE TABLE THIS. I'LL BUILD A NEW SYSTEM ON ANOTHER PI AND SEE IF I CAN RECREATE THE ALTERING PROCESS AND CAPTURE THE LOGS. THAT MIGHT BE MEANINGFUL. Hi Michael, I explained in the first post, but here's an "executive summary" Oh well... this posting is almost as long as the first one... -I added all four genre FLAC regular RP streams to the queue successfully. I was switching between them by selecting "play" from their position in the queue. I noticed an abnormality ("now playing" info froze while music played on). I cleared the queue. I attemped to add all four stations again, but only one adds, the others don't add (standard UI), add as just an blank image (material), or add as a blank image with "loading" (squeeze control). These "blank items" cannot be "removed" I need to clear the queue.- Can you reproduce this with _any_ radio stream, or is this specific to RP streams? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Consolidating calls to the JSON-RPC API
Inspired by the approach of user ynot1234567890 in 'this thread' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109273-Announce-LMS-Controls-Google-Home-Google-Assistant-Voice-Control-of-LMS-Players), I'm currently using a bash script to pull LMS Player values into Home Assistant that are not currently supported by the native 'Home Assistant Logitech Squeezebox integration' (https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/squeezebox/), notably shuffle and sleep status on the player, or settings for mixer plugins like DSTM. This allows me for example to use voice control to start a SugarCube mix, but to check first that it is actually enabled on the player in question. At the moment, I'm doing this through 3 calls to the JSON-RPC API in one script, one a compound query to get the player status, and then a couple more to get the settings for a couple of mixer plugins, using the "playerpref " call. Am I doing this right? It strikes me as potentially a bit inefficient - is there a way to combine these into a single call for example? goharbourview123's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23031 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116193 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

LMS 8.2 on a pCP 7 Nothing like doing some testing track down an issue, only to break something else :) Member @RobbH and I both noticed some album art/information and timing issues when adding multiple internet radio streams to the queue, then selecting them to play, as a pseudo set of presents. So I started methodically testing to try to create a clear way to replicate, and perhaps some clues along the way...Then I broke it. :( Here's what I did. I added each of the four genre radio paradise FLAC (non interactive) to the queue. They loaded fine. When I started selecting each to play, I noticed that it would "freeze" now playing info (song/art does not change). That was the original issue I was tracing. But then new problem came after I did allot of play this try that (to chase the artwork freeze), then I cleared the queue, and tried to re-add the four stations to try again. I couldn't (see below). Other internet radio streams do not work as well. LMS UI doesn't let you, Material creates a null graphic that the menu doesn't work, so you can't delete. Squeeze control is also shown. Note that adding my music files works fine. So, stop/start LMS, reboot pCP, uninstall/Reinstall RP plugin - nothing works. Perhaps there is a magic file in cache that I can delete?
