Interesting. I don't know if this is related to your problem but I'm running the latest 7.9.3 version and just recently, when running the web interface and I get the notification of plugins needing updating, I click 'OK' to restart the server and it doesn't restart. In fact the stopping of squeezesvr hangs and never completes. I've tried killing the service in cmd as Administrator but the only solution is to reboot the PC. It happened again today so I reinstalled the latest 7.9.3 over the existing installation to see if it solves the problem. Time will tell .. For what it's worth, I've been running LMS on my Windows PC fitted with a Samsung 840 series SSD for over 7 years (so far). My music library is on a secondary HDD but the LMS cache folder and the other default installation locations are on the SSD. The only other thing I can think of (which may be a total red herring) is that I recall from another thread of yours regarding the installation of Windows 10, you mentioned using a microsoft account. Did you install LMS whilst logged in using your microsoft account, or a local account? I really don't know whether this would make a diffference, but I've only ever used local accounts with Windows 10 and have never had a problem with the tray icon not being present. It might be worth checking the notifications settings (if you haven't already done so) - right-click on an empty bit of the taskbar and choose settings - scroll down to the hyperlink which states 'Select which icons appear in the taskbar' - usually the default setting is that everything is switched on with the button at the top As you will see on this settings screen, you can choose each or any of the icons individually and it might be worth having a tweak of the settings and then set it back to default to try and give Windows a nudge in the right direction. To test that it has worked, reboot the pc and see if the LMS icon appears in the system tray then hover the mouse over the icon and it should say 'Logitech Media Server Running'. I do recall reading here that some people have problems with this, but all I do after having installed LMS on my Windows 10 x64 PC is: - open the controll panel as an administrator - i the status tab, change the dropdown list to 'Automatically run at system start' - enter the credentials of an adminstrator account in the boxes below - apply/save, reboot and job done. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Problem with Latest Nightly and Android Squeezer
Hi I recently upgraded LMS to 7.9.0-1479378558 of 19 November and since then I am having a strange problem with the Squeezer Android app. The app successfully detects my music library using 192.168.1.100:9090 as normal. I can browse the library content by all the categories (Artists, Albums, New Music etc.) but it cannot see either of my players (Duet & PiCoreplayer). I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting Squeezer, stopping and starting LMS but nothing works The problem immediately disappears when I install an older version of LMS (the version I re-installed was 7.9.0-1479378558) Any thoughts?
