The only other thing I can think of (which may be a total red herring) is that I recall from another thread of yours regarding the installation of Windows 10, you mentioned using a microsoft account. Did you install LMS whilst logged in using your microsoft account, or a local account? I really don't know whether this would make a diffference, but I've only ever used local accounts with Windows 10 and have never had a problem with the tray icon not being present.
