I have a very large music collection (lots of TB) and for me the QNAP is more save and reliable as one large SSD. So therefore I had the idea of this feature for the LMS. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS and caching of playlist
Hi guys, I am using a media PC with Linux and LMS on top. So I have the question if LMS is able to cache the FLACs of a playlist to a build-in SSD of the MPC? Some high-end networkplayer like Naim, Linn, Auralic... are using this feature to avoid permanent network traffic. Play FLAC over Tidal --> failed. That means, that I select my playlist on Tidal, select the song for playback and than the song is in my LMS playlist. When I looked in the web front-end it seems that the song is playing (replaytime increases)´ but there is nothing to hear. When I stopped it and tried to play a FLAC from my NAS also nothing to hear. After a while the SqueezeControl App reported no player connected. In the processlist of Ubuntu the squeezelite process is up and running and the LMS server.log has no entries. After restarting the squeezelite service, play of FLAC over NAS works fine again. I checked with an older version of squeezelite, same behavior. When I restarted my workstation, I noticed that the ip-address of LMS was 127.0.0.1 and after about 3 minutes the ip address changed to the right one 10.0.0.95. I am using the LMS with the current version of Squeezelite Player v1.9.7-1278. There are no problems playing FLAC files from NAS. Hi Michael, I restarted the LMS service, but nothing changed. There is only a problem with playback of Tidal songs (FLAC not mp3). From my LMS app (SqueezeControl) and LMS Webfrontend I have access to all my Tidal playlists and favorites and so on, but when I select a song and wants to play nothing happened. So from my point of view it seems that there are no network issues, btw. I have also KODI on this workstation and KODI works fine. After a short break, I tested TIDAL playback with current LMS (8.0.0~1584722669) and everything is ok. :) The bitrate is now displayed as "PCM VBR" and not "MP3" It seems that is was a LMS topic. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] TIDAL playback in LMS 8.0 only MP3
Hi all, yesterday I upgraded my LMS to version 8.0 and since that, all my titles in the TIDAL playlist where played in MP3 format. Before the upgrade to 8.0 the TIDAL plugin played all in FLAC 44.1 KHz. I reinstalled the TIDAL application in mysqueezebox.com, unchecked the plugin in LMS and restart LMS, but nothing changed. I used the LMS 8.0 with Ubuntu 18.04. Any ideas?
