[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Always sync all players when playing

2022-04-01 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

I know that I can create groups of players - but I am looking for a
solution which will always sync players.

The scenario: I am in the kitchen, listening to a radio station, have to go
into the lounge and wait until something is ready and want to continue
listening, but the door to the kitchen stays open.

I could use Walk With Me, but I want to use Siri. I know how to start
playback via Siri - but how can I make sure, that the Lounge player is in
sync with the Kitchen player? I have a player group called All which
contains all players, but I do niot want to start playing on all players.

Any suggestion how I can do this?

Thanks,

Rainer

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Sonos Arc usable via AirPlay bridge oronly DLNA?

2020-08-19 Thread Rainer M Krug
Asking in the Sonos Forum, I got the following answer (in German):

https://de.community.sonos.com/installation-und-nutzung-223378/unterstuetzt-die-sonos-arc-soundbar-airplay-1-oder-nur-airplay-2-6750208?postid=16093973#post16093973

It should work.

Cheers,

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Sonos Arc usable via AirPlay bridge or only DLNA?

2020-08-18 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

I am thinking about a Sonos Arc Soundbar (great Dolby Atmos support according
to WhatHifi). But I have one questions: It supports AirPlay 2 - but does it
support AirPlay 1, so tat I can use it as a piCore player via thew AirPlay
bridge?

I read, I can use the DLNA bridge, but I would prefer the AirPlay bridges, as I
already use it extensively and the sync works.

Thanks.

In the first case yes. In the second case, I selected an empty location for the
LMS preferences / cache in piCorePlayer and started LMS. But I will try to make
sure this afternoon.

Thanks -

Unlikely - I have Ann external 2.5 2TB LaCie HDD which I bought about 1/2 year
ago.

The data partition tor LMS has 86GB left, the Music partition > 1TB.

Obviously it could be failing - I will check this evening.

After I tried to scan again yesterday evening as quite a few titles were
missing, the library was empty again this morning… Apart from the album I
navigated to via the “Music Folder” browser.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Convert FLACs to MP3s?

2018-08-14 Thread Rainer M Krug
You know what would be cool? If I could just have a setting in LMS, which would
cause, upon a (re)scan automatically convert the collection to mp3 and update
the ones, where the metadata has changed.

It would save so much time (and questions), and it can’t be much more than a
simple hook in the scan script, which executes a custom command to create the
mp3 when a new song is found or the metadata is updated?

I mean - LMS knows which tracks are new or have updated metadata, and when I
add new tracks, I do a rescan anyway.

Cheers,

Rainer

I have found this

but the DABBar only runs on windows and I have no idea about supported
hardware (and it seems to be not maintained any more?).

I think a similar approach would be fine - is there something for
digital radio (terrestrial) in Switzerland?

Only horizontal resizing - what would be nice is an automatic vertical
resizing of the info panel at the bottom when the text is wrapped.

But no serious issue to spoend much time on it.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Display issue Library Views name in web gui

2016-12-07 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

There is a slight issue with the display of the Library View name in the
web GUI:

If e.g I choose the hide lossy Library View, and choose the width of the
left column (frame?) in the web GUI, the name wraps around but the width
of the box stays the same and I can only see 1.5 text lines.

I hope you can see the screenshot, if not, here is the link:

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Search No Longer Works?

2016-12-07 Thread Rainer M Krug
There is always the option to try it with a virtual machine running
linux - you can mount your network share in there and you could see if it
is the file server or the LMS installation on Windows.

If it works under Linux with network share mounted in Linux, you can
rerun the scan but with a shared folder which points to your mapped
network folder under Windows - if this works, the problem is with the
windows LMS installation (or configuration).

So the deb is not build for the arm platform for Jessie?
Is this correct?

That's the one I used now - but I still get the missing perl
installation error, even though perl is installed.

But I'll look into that at a later time.

I just converted them to flac as I realized, that ac3 do not with
metatags [1]. And I think they actually do not have any tags.

Thanks,

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] playing stereo ac3 files on LMS or convert them?

2016-04-11 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

I extracted some ac3 stereo tracks from a music DVD. Can the LMS play
these? They are not in the Advanced > Formats section - how can I add
them?

If I have to convert then, what is the best format? Is it worth
converting the lossy ac3 to lossless flac?

Thanks,

That looks really ice (on Linux) exactly as I hoped.

I assume, that the dates represent changes in the previous versions.

I am happy with it.

I know that one, and it is a step in the right direction, but it would
be nice if this page could show either the change log or at least a link

I changed it now to daily checks, clicked "Check now" and I get the info
that there is a new update, but I don't get the info on the LMS control

This could work, but if I understand correctly, the site should be
generated by the LMS as it is different for different PlugIns installed.

So a site generated by LMS,

- containing the change log of the updates (or buttons to show them)
- containing buttons to update selected plugins or LMS (where possible)

would be perfect.

Because of reasons unknown to me, I did not look at the Audio tab of the
player.

I thought I did - but I can't find the setting anymore. Where can I find it?

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Show change log of nightly builds in LMS when new build available?

2016-03-31 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

I am using the nightly builds of LMS 7.9 and the update checker is
on. It nicely tells me, when there is a new build available. But to see
the change log, I have to go to the internet site, and there is no link
to it. So it is searching for it (I found it - so that is not the problem).

Would it be possible to have the change log be shown in LMS, or at least
provide a link where one can quickly check?
My LMS runs on a pogoplug E02 and an update takes about 15 minutes - 15
minutes without music

Thanks,

Rainer

No - I have flac, m3a and mp3 as "originals". And of all the flac, I
have an m4a in the same directory as well.

Nice idea - but than I would need a new extension for the converted
flac - doable. But there is also the issue about the player page for
Additional Browser Mode configuration which is not opening (see other
thread
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104813-Open-Player-Additional-Browse-Modesnot-possible
) - I think when
I can open that page, I should be able to set the default library.

But I like the idea of disabling certain audio file extensions.

Thanks,

ITunes ignores flac, as it can't read them - so no problem there.

And what is the klick? I have no idea how I can select the library.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Additional Browser Modes - Hide lossy duplicates if lossless available

2015-12-15 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

Using Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1449657798 on Linux

Is there a way of having the default library, i.e. the library which is
used for everything, being the "Hide lossy duplicates if lossless track
is available" library view?

Or can I specify this per player?

I would really much like to have for each flac an m4a copy in the same
folder to be able to sync with iTunes.

Thanks,

Rainer

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Exclude all non-lossless if lossless exisrt with 7.8?

2015-12-13 Thread Rainer M Krug
Hi

I was running initially 7.7.5.

I tried using 7.9.0~1449657798 on my Pogoplug, and I was excited when I saw the
possibility to exclude lossy files if lossless files exist. This
would make managing lossy copies of flac for iTunes quite easy.

But: using iPeng, the response time of the server was simply not
acceptable (several minutes no response - scanning had finished!).

I switched to 7.8.1~1449436296, and the response was back to normal (and
scanning was faster). So I stayed.

My question now: is there a possibility to to have this feature (ignore
lossy if lossless exist) in 7.8?

Along the same lines: is it expected, that 7.9... is so much slower on a
small computer?

Thanks,

Rainer
