There's a menu in the Tidal app on your device which lets you choose the quality. I forgot to mention the obvoius ;-) Unfortunately that doesn't change to flac-files for me. What LMS version are you running? Had to disconnect the player from mysb.com Oct 18, and upon reconnecting I've not been able to get FLACs. Everything comes in 256 mp3. I've had a set-up with SBT streaming FLAC from Tidal via the official app, for as long as it's been around. Connected to mysb.com from the Touch. It's been a perfect match. Had to disconnect the player from mysb.com Oct 18, and upon reconnecting I've not been able to get FLACs. Everything comes in 256 mp3. Have tried "everything"; factory reset on the player side, disabling and setting up the Tidal-app again on mysb.com etc. Subscrition on Tidal is still HiFi. EVERYTHING CONNECTS FINE, BUT ONLY ALLOWS MP3S TO GET THROUGH. ANY IDEA WHERE TO LOOK? I have tested with a different LMS instance, same MSB and Tidal accounts, on a different Antipodes server and it works OK, sets the FLAC option and plays FLAC OK. I have asked Sailor Boy to test in his system. I just run a few tests here, and I haven't had any problem switching back and forth between mp3 and flac. Ok, I think I've found the source of the problem: your LMS' user agent token was triggering the mis-behaviour. I've applied a change which should fix this. tonyd/sailorboy - as both of you are using the same kind of streamer, could you please try to use another LMS instance for a test? Just set up LMS on your computer, configure it to use your mysb.com account, connect your device to it and try to play Tidal content. Would it fail to play flac, too? You're not using locally stored playlists, are you? I just run a few tests here, and I haven't had any problem switching back and forth between mp3 and flac. I tested this again today, and no change to the situation with the Tidal plugin still playing MP3s. Is there any progress on the diagnosis of what could be causing this issue? I've been on vacation. You can regard us as the same person however. I have access to logs etc by logging into the Linux server that drives the apps whereas he doesn't. Also I have been able to reproduce his problem as previously described. I have been looking into this issue for a customer who uses an Antipodes Audio server running LMS 7.9.1 on Linux Fedora 24. The Tidal plugin on my Antipodes server played Tidal HiFi tracks as expected, showing as '1414kbps VBR, flc'. However I then clicked the 'My Apps/Tidal/Streaming Quality/MP3' option (as opposed to 'FLAC or MP3'). At that point Tidal FLAC tracks started to show as '256k CBR, MP3'. Now I cannot get back to FLAC! Clicking on the 'FLAC or MP3' option makes no difference, Is this still an issue? There could be some caching be involved, delaying the change by a few minutes. Good points. When I log in to the TIDAL site or use their app, it definitely says HiFi user, and does stream FLAC. I just don't know at that point (or how) LMS uses my login info, although it must. It SHOULD come up FLAC, but when I first signed up to TIDAL, I didn't sign up for HiFi level, but upgraded after a few days. So, if LMS is somehow caching that info somewhere within the bowels of the program, it might not see the HiFi level membership. To your point, I'm not for sure that it's NOT FLAC. Are you sure you aren't getting the FLAC stream? I believe that statement is just a disclaimer just in case you do not have a HIFI subscription but were expecting FLAC. I use the Ipeng app and it reports I am streaming the FLAC version of Spoon's album Hot Thoughts even though I also see that same statement when I open the Tidal plugin. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] TIDAL connection thru LMS only streams at MP3 quality
Hello: After much tinkering, I got TIDAL running on LMS, ver 7.9.1. Even though I have a TIDAL HiFi subscription (streaming at FLAC quality), when I launch the IOS Squeezepad app and listen thru my home audio system (Transporter SE), the streaming is only done at MP3 quality. Under the TIDAL plugin, 'Streaming Quality' tab there is the following annotation: -Please note that FLAC is only available to TIDAL HiFi users. MP3 will automatically be used otherwise.- I called tech support at both TIDAL and LMS Support, and they both told me to contact the other team. Anyone else seen this, or better yet, gotten FLAC quality music to stream?
