I got this working on Windows, too. Alas, I'm not totally happy with the result. Hmmm. Just installed the windows version on my Win 8.1 (64) machine. Trying to play the URL produces the same old problem (plays for 1 to 2 seconds, with audio, then stops). Using windows 7.9 dated Feb 15. Ok, unfortunately I can confirm this issue on Windows :-(. Looking further into the transcoding code I see there are major differences between Windows and the other systems. Not sure if this is the https problem. But I'm stumped. The following URL used to work fine for me in LMS 7.8 http://www.wuft.org/stream/wuft-fm-hd1-aac.m3u In LMS 7.9 it will open, start the stream as AAC then stop after about 3 seconds. As bpa pointed out there was an issue transcoding streams from https resources. I think I've fixed this in the latest build. So for AAC the current helper app is faad and it receives the AAC stream via stdin from LMS regardless whether source is a file or remote stream (i.e.for a http/aac stream , LMS opens the http stream via a TCP socket and reads the data) . It will depend on the transcoding rule. Generally if the rule has
$FILE$ or $PATH$ in the input rule and the synatx rules has a "I" then
the transcoding application bypasses LMS for the source, otherwise LMS
is the source sending data to the transcoding application through
stdin.

the URL passed in $FILE$. The "#RB" indicates that stdin is not to be
used.

@michael, I don't see anything in the server logs when the station starts playing then fails. Could you enable debug logging for streaming related flags? Radio doesn't transcode so it looks like the http / https is done OK for stream whcih can be played natively but not for transcoding. I thought LMS used to try this http instead of https swap but this functionality seems to have been broken or changed. In LMS 7.9 it will open, start the stream as AAC then stop after about 3 seconds. The following URL used to work fine for me in LMS 7.8 http://www.wuft.org/stream/wuft-fm-hd1-aac.m3u In LMS 7.9 it will open, start the stream as AAC then stop after about 3 seconds. (This is true whether on a linux 7.9 or a windows 7.9, all updated as of Feb 1, 2017) Played fine in LMS.7.8 thru yesterday (and still plays ok in foobar2000). The station hasn't changed the URL in a year or so.
