Made the change as instructed. It continues to appear the word "empty" when I press on the "cue" file. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Installing PiCorePlayer & Squeebox
carlmart, I've just had a look at the LMS convert.conf file. I realise that you want to stream your wav file as wav to your player (which is running picoreplayer) but I suspect it might not be possible to do so if you want to use cue files. This is because the convert.conf file does not have seek options for "wav to pcm". As a test, I suggest you go to Settings (from the LMS web browser interface) - select the "Advanced" tab - select "FileTypes" from the drop down list (towards the top right) - scroll down to the WAV section - within the WAV section: change PCM from "Native" to "Disabled" (you could also disable the mp3 option, just to make sure) - make a note of what you have changed so that you can restore things back to how they were This should force LMS to encode the wave file as FLAC before sending the data to your player. This should enable LMS to use seek times needed to play cue files. See if that enables you to play cue files. (There should be no loss in audio quality doing this.) - I suggest WAV section Touch, Metrum Jade, Bryston B4 SST2, PMC OB1i speakers, HP Proliant Microserver/Ubuntu, PC/Windows 7, iPad 4, iPeng, Squeezepad. The file line in the cue file example was: FILE "Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia - DOCES BÁRBAROS - CD1.wav" WAVE I use cue files a lot, though mostly for m4a/AAC (off air concerts). I seem to remember that I have had problems in the past where the filename includes accented characters, e.g. the "â" and "Á". This might be due to the operating system my main library and LMS runs on (Linux) or that my LMS is set to English - but it is worth checking what happens if you substitute the accented characters in the filename and then Rescan for new files. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Installing PiCorePlayer & Squeebox
Re .cue ... First thing to check ... is the album, that you showed the top of the .cue file for, listed in your LMS list of albums? If yes ... then are the individual tracks listed under that album (in LMS)? If yes ... then it looks like the scanning worked so try playing one of the tracks. If no to any of above then check the scanner.log to see if there is anything in there about this album/file. For example - it might say that it cannot find the file. In that case perhaps the commas in the file name are causing problems (I have not checked to see if LMS is happy with them). Otherwise ... perhaps LMS not happy with .cue files for .wav recordings (again - I have not checked this). You could test this by making a .flac file of a CD that does not have any characters other that a-z and space in the name and generate a .cue for that - and then scanning again. FYI I use .cue files with large .mp3 files without any problems (there was a time when leading spaces were needed by LMS for the TRACK section of the .cue file but that was changed long ago so that they are not needed) Paul Webster http://dabdig.blogspot.com Author Radio France (FIP etc) plugin Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110829 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

To play DSD, you need to install DSDPlayer plugin to your LMS server running on your windows machine. Then on your player, go to the pCP web pages, and then on the bottom of the squeezelite page, you need to select the DSD binary for squeezelite. There are many DSD threads here on the forum which you can search. The folders organization I should control on the LMS setup, and I already opened a specific topic for that. But the controls I want to know more about are those on the PCP itself. carlmart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110829 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Thanks for leading me to access LMS. But what the audio work was in the PCP setup page. It only did work after I selected an Output setting, as shown on screen. The problem was a missing setting. Ok, it's taken a lot to piece it all together as English is not OP's native language and everyone has been a bit punchy, but I think we now have the complete picture: OP is running LMS on a Windows PC. He is trying to play via a Raspberry Pi 3 running piCorePlayer 5 and JiveLite. The screens he's posted are from the latter. He says he successfully hears analog output from the Pi, but has not been able to play through to his Topping DAC via USB. He's configured pCP to output via USB. Any suggestions on ALSA settings he might try? Yes, when I finished installing PCP on my Raspberry, all the tracks from my music folder showed on the PCP screen. Previous to that I had had LMS scan that same folder. What I found on PCP in the folder they called "My music" was around twenty subfolders, with titles like Jazz composers, or Years, or Genres, that I never created. Right now I wasn't interested how that classification was done, or which program did it, I took the first album on the list and started playing music. Can we forget about LMS for a minute? The PCP web setup allows to change the output to USB audio, which I did. For LMS says it's not running, so what is preventing that USB to work? Is there any other place to set that up? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Installing PiCorePlayer & Squeebox
Just FYI ... there are plenty of LMS installs on RPi with libraries in the tens of thousands of tracks. There are a few posts here with stats showing scan times that are reasonable, especially for an operation (clear and rescan) that is run infrequently. You should be able to support around 10 players with little problem. Issues are more likely in wireless networking than in the RPi itself. RPi4 looks like it will be an even better LMS machine. V 7.7.6 was the last version released by Logitech as Logitech stopped providing active maintenance at that version. Since then LMS has been maintained by the community and by Michael Herger who is a Logitech employee. There are many bug & security fixes since 7.7.6. LMS would work very badly as server, so it's not an option. You can't use SATA 3.5" HDDs with it, which is where my data is and will be. Certainly not an option. There's a PiCorePlayer tutorial showing how to do that, but the tutorial fails to explain how to use PCP with an external server. Right now there wouldn't be any problem in changing the title, but the problem IS certainly related to PCP, no matter how you insist in saying it's not. It's about how to use PCP with an external LMS server. carlmart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110829 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

The following are the official Logitech instructions on how to install LMS on Windows 7: Windows 7 / XP / Vista To install Logitech Media Server: Get the latest version of Logitech Media Server from the Downloads page. Run the downloaded file and follow the onscreen instructions. In the final window, click Finish. The Logitech Media Server Control Panel will appear. Next, you'll need to configure Logitech Media Server to find your media and sync to your MySqueezebox.Com account. In the Logitech Media Server Control Panel, click the Library tab. Here, you can: Change your media folder locations. Your Windows Music, Videos, and Pictures folders will be entered here initially. Set your Playlist folder location. Opt to Use iTunes by selecting this check box. This means Logitech Media Server will create your music database from your iTunes database. On the Account tab, you can enter your MySqueezebox.Com credentials. This way, you can access any music-service-based Apps you've subscribed to from Logitech Media Server. If you don't already have a MySqueezebox.Com account, go to www.mysqueezebox.com/user/signup to create one. Click Apply to confirm the settings, and then OK to close the Control Panel. NOTE: Squeezebox players only support music streaming. Music, video, and picture content can be accessed through Logitech Revue. My sole interest with LMS is so that the PiCorePlayer on my Raspberry works, using my PC as server. pCP only seems to accept LMS, it can't find the media directories by itself, which I would prefer When I tried to install LMS following those instructions I run into that error window I showed. My question is in the right place. This is a forum for Logitech Media Server, as written above, and on the large title much above it says "Logitech Squuezebox". My question is related to PiCorePlayer, LMS and Squeezebox, as the three work together. What I want is someone's help, not to try to send me elsewhere as my question does not belong here. Because LMS will be the server on the PC to feed the PiCorePlayer on the Raspberry, along with Squeezebox. carlmart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110829 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Sorry to disagree, Greg. The question is related to installing PicCorePlayer, and Squeezebox and LMS are part of the installation. I'm just following the PiCorePlayer tutorial and that is the way things are. carlmart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110829 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

hi carlmart, As this has nothing to do with piCorePlayer you might be better posting in a thread with a better title so you can get help from the LMS/PC experts. regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110829 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Installing PiCorePlayer & Squeebox
The Raspberry is a Pi 3B+, and the pCP version is 4.1.0 That part now is solved, and it seems fine on the Rpi side. What I'm trying to install now is LMS & Squeezebox on my PC, which for some time will act as my server. My Squeezebox is registered and activated, and I'm trying to finish the LMS setup. The error arises when I try to apply all the data in the LMS Control Panel. The message I get is this. What I'm doing wrong? Do you need any other information?
