Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is LMS dying?
OP, if the problem returns post back with your wireless router brand and model. Also, the "Server IP Address" from the top of the LMS "Settings" > "Information" tab. Someone will help you change the wireless channel. I'd suggest that you relocate your server PC so that you can permanently WIRE it to your router. All around, it will be more stable. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is LMS dying?
I have 7 squeezeboxes organised in two synchronised setups and my server is a Raspberry Pi 3. Most, but not all of my boxes are wired (also the server, of course) and I have no troubles playing synchron from my library or from webradio. I would also strongly recommend to think of the wifi or the router as a problem. bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111215 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is LMS dying?
Back to basics. The OP has a problem with players which also happens when connected to mysqueezebox.com So there is one issue which is NOT LMS related. If the OP can fix the players wireless playing issues - then they can proceed to examining LMS issues knowing the players play OK. The channel setting is on a router and as advised change from "auto" to 1,6, or 11. If you have an Android phone there are apps which can monitor Wifi channels and tell if there are neighbouring wifi networks. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111215 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is LMS dying?
Are the players synchronized? If so than one single player can ruin your party. Also your surrounding environment can give you problems with wifi. A single home with no neighbors is something else than a home in a city. Did you change anything in the network like a switch, router, wifi etc? Not all wifi solutions work well with squeezebox. *SqueezeBoxes:* 1x Transporter (Living room) 1x SB2 (shed), 1x Radio (Kitchen), 1x Boom (Dining room), 1x piCorePlayer (jacuzzi), 1x piCorePlayer (Garden) 1x OSMC + Squeezelite (Movie room), 1x Touch (Study 2), few spare unit's *Server:* LMS on Pi3 7.9.1. on PcP 3.21 *Network:* AVM Fritzbox, Netgear Smart Switch 24p, 3x Ubiquity edwin2006's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66926 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111215 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is LMS dying?
It happens...I've had my SB Classic for many years. It's now a brick. But happily RPi, LMS (thanks MHerger!), HiFiBerry, SqueezeLite, and piCorePlayer are all currently maintained & are not abandoned. You can also install Squeezelite from the Windows store. It's free & the developer does a great job on it. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?108550-Announce-Squeezelite-X (1) Pi 3 w/ HifiBerry Digi + Pro, piCorePlayer 5.0.0, LMS 7.9.2, WD usb drive for Music files (1) Touch, (1) Transporter, (1) Duet Tex's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30118 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111215 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Apesbrain wrote: > Have you tried a different wireless channel (1, 6, or 11)? > > Can you move the server close enough to the router to wire it? I honestly don't know how to change wireless channels. The server is less than 10 feet from the router, but don't have a cable long enough to reach. The Squeezelite is working flawlessly, wireless from my laptop to the server via the router. Don't want to jinx it, but the Duet that was failing seems to be working fine now. I grabbed another Boom and plugged it in next to the one that is acting up. It performed better, but not flawlessly. The old boom worked a little better. It frequently rebuffered, but usually came back on. The Duet that was cutting out just streamed a radio station flawlessly for over 10 minutes. I'm now playing from my music and will attempt to play a complete album w/o rebuffering or stopping.so far so good. Maybe I've got gremlins in the house that are trying to drive me nuts. :D Again thanks. I'll keep you posted as to my progress. jeff52807's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34220 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111215 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Nice thing is that both SL and LMS are active projects, as is piCorePlayer & the Raspberry Pi products. Unlike our venerable SqueezeBox products. Sanity check ... can you use SqueezeLite on a computer & listen through computer speakers? If yes, then LMS is likely good & trouble may be hardware. I lost my SB Classic this year. Just powered off on it's own once, came back for a month then went away again. Happily I had already set up an RPi with a HiFiBerry card & piCorePlayer connected to my system. It has no display, but using Android OS apps works very well (and the new material-design web UI is very nice so even use of iOS & Android OS is not necessary). Since you have the same problem when using mysqueezebox.com - the problem is NOT LMS. If the player are connected using wireless - then it is likely you are getting interference on the wireless channel. Usually advice is first turn off players and wifi routers. Turn on router and when online - then turn on players. If problem persists - check for neighbouring wifi networks on same or adjacent channels. If connections are wired - then still power off/on players and router as above. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111215 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
