Reboot without automatical start of LMS, same result, but at this point the Start server is greyed out. But the logfile shows activity. Does the log show activity after you tried to start manually? Can you reach localhost:9000 then? ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on Mac OS Monterey with Apple M1 silicon
Hi, very new to LMS ... But kind of similar problem as with M1.. Downloaded and installed LMS v8.3.0, all worked well until I needed to reboot. At first the server appears to start, but no response on localhost:9000. Just the statement that the server is busy. Trying to Stop the server, but no success. No apperance of any apps in the app folder, only in the system preferences. Reboot without automatical start of LMS, same result, but at this point the Start server is greyed out. But the logfile shows activity. Installing again (without any uninstall), same result. Uninstalling (hopefully), install, reboot etc, same result Has now, hopefully, uninstalled again (following the steps given at wiki.slimdevices.com//Mac_Installation_Guide). but not started a new installation. Using SMS-200Ultra for local streaming, and worked very well after initial LMS installation. Noticed that when the no response on localhost:9000 access was denied to SMS-200. (possible problem related to user, permissions..) Any suggestions before I give it a new try? Will of course try the scripts.. regards tjua's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72438 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115668 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on Mac OS Monterey with Apple M1 silicon
Yes, the prefpane deos not show the correct status and apparently cannot invoke access to http://localhost:9000. Closing System Preferences does not cure the issue. I have also restarted the Mac and this does not resolve the problem. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on Mac OS Monterey with Apple M1 silicon
Yes, that works fine. Sorry, perhaps I did not make it clear in the OP. To stop the server, I just kill perl 5.18 Oh, the problem is only about the preference pane not showing the correct status? What if you close the preferences and restart them? ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on Mac OS Monterey with Apple M1 silicon
By "hang" I just mean that the server status in the prefpane indicates that it is "starting" rather than running (and the Start Server option is greyed out). It has remained like this for 5 hours. According to Activity Monitor, perl5.18 is only using 0.2% CPU, so LMS is not perfoming intensive tasks. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on Mac OS Monterey with Apple M1 silicon
The server startup appears to hang at a late stage and a log is generated on startup from both the Prefpane and the command line (see What do you consider "hang"? Run from the command line, it should remain there, and you would have to hit ctrl-C to stop the task. That's expected (and that seems to be what happened in your log file). Please check the activity monitor: I see you are using TrackStat and some other 3rd party plugins: TrackStat is known to take some time to update its tables. Maybe LMS just needs longer to start than what you expected? Is the LMS task using a lot of CPU? Or is it really hanging? ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on Mac OS Monterey with Apple M1 silicon
The server startup appears to hang at a late stage and a log is generated on startup from both the Prefpane and the command line (see attached). I tried running the permissions script but this did not resolve the issue, so it does not seem to relate to permissions on the log or cache files Although I can reach the server and the settings using a browser, access to these is not available from the Prefpane itself (Fig attached) +---+ |Filename: LMS hang.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36603| +---+ Confused's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53691 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115668 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on Mac OS Monterey with Apple M1 silicon
arch -x86_64 /Library/PreferencePanes/Squeezebox.prefPane/Contents/server/slimserver.pl --d_startup Would that line give you some log output? You could give the following script a try: https://www.dropbox.com/s/r9hswxhf0t0fkif/FixLMSPermissions.zip?dl=0 There sometimes is a permissions issue on the log/cache folders which would crash LMS. That script would fix that. ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
