Of course, you could just hack your registry and it will just work: After installing JRE 1.5 (or whatever JRE you want to use) create this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.4 and copy everything from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.5.1_5 (or whatever it's called) into ...\1.4 also. That will trick the installer into thinking the JRE is a 1.4 JRE. Alternatively somebody could fix the installer. No, it should be fixed. 1.5 has several advantages over 1.4 e.g. 64-bit support. To reveal the real user (name and street address) of a static and unnamed ip, there is a barrier to take: You have to make an official request to the provider! Until that, there is no name and street address ... and no spam ;-) I'm just talking about a very basic level of privacy, of course.
