Should i remove this before upgrading to SM 2.1

You can do that afterward. Basically it doesn't matter since the pref
will not work with SM 2.1 any longer anyway.

(another question - are the profiles SM2.0 and SM2.1 nearly identical ?)

Yes. Bookmarks will be stored in places.sqlite in addition to history
(as is already the case with SM 2.0) and there may be more minor
differences.

Thanks for you and for WLS who show me the UA in 2.1.

Problem with ol

2010-11-03 Thread Hana Skoumalova

Hello,

I use SM 2.0.3 on Linux and I encountered a strange problem with
displaying items in ordered list (ol). Twelve items are displayed
correctly, but the thirteenth looks strange: the number 13 is pushed to
the right into the text.

I tried to find an error in my code, but I couldn't find any. I also
tried other browsers (FF, Google Chrome, FF on XP and IE) and they
display the item correctly (or at least the same way as other items).

Sending multiple e-mails to multiple people, but showing To: address?

2010-11-03 Thread Ant

Hi!

I know BCC and CC exists. BCC is nice but I don't want to have To not
show To: undisclosed-recipients. I do want to show the name I entered.
Is there a way to have SeaMonkey show the name when I send to multiple
people, without showing other names and letting them know it is a BCC,
from one e-mail I send?

Thank you in advance. :)

The normal practice to avoid undisclosed-recipients is to place your
own email address in the TO: field. Since you are sending to multiple
BCC: people, are you suggesting that you want each *recipient's* name in
the TO: field that /they/ see?

You can't do that while using multiples in BCC:, except if you want to
divulge one of them to all the rest. Or send separate emails one at a
time.

My recent experience is that this method triggers SPAM filters at the
ISP-level.

As soon as I stopped doing this the bounced mails stopped.

The problems were with comcast, yahoo, frontiernet, and att.

There are some very serious problems with the interference to
Internet communications by arbitrary/unaccountable ISP-level
filters that need to be addressed. But that is another discussion
for another list.

You can't do that while using multiples in BCC:, except if you want
to divulge one of them to all the rest. Or send separate emails one
 at a time.

My recent experience is that this method triggers SPAM filters at the
 ISP-level.

Which method? Yourself in the TO:? Or undisclosed-recipients?

As soon as I stopped doing this the bounced mails stopped.

I regularly send coming events-type email to a club I belong to, as
the webmaster. I'll put the club address in both the FROM: and the TO:,
and all the members in the BCC:. It works, and I do not see rejections
or filtering from the ISPs you mention, or any others.

The problems were with comcast, yahoo, frontiernet, and att.

My BCC: totals are generally in the 120-130 addresses range.

There are some very serious problems with the interference to
 Internet communications by arbitrary/unaccountable ISP-level
filters that need to be addressed. But that is another discussion
 for another list.

Agreed. :-)

Putting my E-mail in the TO: field and BCC below that.

It worked fine for almost 2 years, then the bounces started one
ISP at a time.

Something wrong with their filters mishandled it and there is
not a good way to get them to fix it.

In the 21st Century E-mail needs to be protected like First Class Mail.

So .. you are getting bounces from the recipients' ISPs. Try placing
fewer, say less than 25, in the BCC:s. If you are composing these emails
manually, try to split up the ISP domain names as well, e.g. only a
couple of each ISP in each email.

Failure is not an option - it is simply a matter of applying
a sufficient amount of pressure upon the right elected officials
and bureaucrats.

One way to begin is to tweak members of the media - reminding them
that their E-mail (and that of their family and friends) is vulnerable
to arbitrary blocking and that they will have no reliable recourse.

Do the same with bureaucrats and elected officials and their families.

Make it personal to them and they will act.

Enlightened self-interest is a powerful motivator.

It is possible, in Preferences, to set SeaMonkey to not check for mail
until the mail client is opened. That works much better from here, and
while it will not really solve your issue, it should work around it.

And the way to do that is ...

Edit - Preferences - Mail Newsgroups - check the box for Only check
for new mail after opening Mail Newsgroups.

Whenever that feature was introduced it drove me crazy until I figured
that one out. Please! Stop doing stuff for me! I'm smart enough

Hello
This solution has one big default : the password's arn't automatic when
we connect a site whith has a login and password registred in Seamonkey.
When we untag this option, the login and password are automatic.

Then the solution is : open both the navigator and the mailer.

Please state whether you see the strange 13 in the FAQ subjectol at
the top of the page, or in the Q/A at the end of the page. Just to be
certain.

In the Q/A part at the bottom. I am trying the page at home and I see
the same error. After upgrading to SM 2.0.10 I can see the same error at
the item no. 10, as well. And I can see the same error in FF (version
3.16.12 for Ubuntu), with items 10 and 11.

I see, now no errors. But is it my imagination, or were you using XHTML
1.0 *Strict* when I first looked at your page? It is now Transitional,
which is for use with legacy pages. Did you read my suggestions about
using HTML 4.01 Strict instead? HTML should give you greater
cross-browser conformity.

Yes, I changed Strict to Transitional to get rid of the last three
errors, which however concerned the tag link and which probably didn't
have any influence on the strange behaviour of ol items.

This page will become a part of a larger web page, which uses XHTML, but
I will try HTML to see what happens.

Another tip you might want to consider: instead of using #q1 #q2
and so forth, use real words (no numbers) related to each of the FAQ
points. (I don't read your language, so can't suggest any.) This way, if
you later want to add another FAQ in the middle of the list, you won't
have to renumber all the rest that come after it.

Oh yeah, I will think about it. :-)

Although it looks just o.k. to me, could you try to apply the
following style rule in addition:

li {

I can only guess some font differences could cause the floated DTs
to descend below the containing DL/LI so the text in the marker of
the following box (LI) gets shifted. Floats are not as innocent as
they may look and they actually cause most of the problems I've

Here both 10 and 13 are shifted to the right! Tested on 2.0.6 then
2.0.10 (your post made me realize I was still using 2.0.6).

At home, it is Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.15)
Gecko/20101027 SeaMonkey/2.0.10

I use these extensions: Adblock Plus, Autofill Forms, DownloadHelper,

Did you try with a fresh profile?

Furthermore, this combination is supposed to be for a LIST of terms and
