check first the properties of the folder, if it is not set for off line
use, maybe it is not at all on your side, but only on server side

Usually yes, since messages are only marked as deleted until the folder
is compacted (expunged).

Twitter through RSS feed

2011-03-01 Thread S. Beaulieu
I follow a few people on Twitter through the RSS feed in Mail. I have
noticed that tweets are automatically truncated in Mail after a certain
amount of characters, which isn't the 140 Twitter limit.

Take, for example, this tweet:
http://twitter.com/S_Bourguignon/status/42289963483660288

In Mail, it's cut short after ce titre inapproprié et dén, thus
truncating the last 13 characters. Obviously, the whole 140 could appear
in Mail, but why doesn't it? Is there a setting I can change somewhere
to correct that situation?

It's not a huge problem since I can simply click on the tweet's link to
read it all, but it's definitely annoying. I'd rather have it all in Mail.

restarted SM, and when I open this account, SM downloaded the whole

Interesting. I'm still on 2.0.11. Maybe after all it's not a problem in

Having read that link, my inclination is to say:

KaiRo et al: Don't worry so much about communicating, focus more on
doing.

As a user I watch releases and betas. I appreciate your efforts but,
honestly, don't worry so much about messaging on what you're doing, just
keep doing what you're doing.

Gentlemen, mission successfully accomplished. Sean's directions were
spot-on, and the copying of my old (Netscape 4.79) In and Sent folders

Clarifying. You are not mistaken, sean.

make a backup copy of the Netscape mail folder... or two or three for
good measure... do your migration work from one of those back-up copies
so as not to corrupt your still working Netscape 4.79...

then FWIW, mailbox folders are still just mailbox folders... you can
copy the individual inbox, sent, drafts, templates, etc files over to
your new SeaMonkey... re-name them all something that does not conflict
with any pre-existing folders in your new SeaMonkey, as well as
something you will immediately recognize when you next open SeaMonkey

caution: SeaMonkey and Netscape must both be closed while you copy
files...

Inbox and sent are all I want to save. So I might call them 'inscape'
and 'sentscape' (to be poetic!). Thanks for sharing your knowledge,
sean. I'm relieved that you think it'll be this easy - to copy straight
from Netscape into SM 2.0.11, right?

yes it should be easy... but like i said... make backup copies outside
