My solution would be to unsubscribe from the newsgroups, then subscribe
again only once. If that fails I would delete the Newsgroup account and
recreate it.

But I think the only way you are going to find out is to install
SeaMonkey and see if it works for you.

The only time I see duplicate groups is in Usenet servers I have the
same group (deliberately) listed on two Usenet servers. Other than That
I have no duplicate groups.

I even have two groups on a news server which has to authenticated
(never see the first piece of spam and I've been subscribed to this
group for 10 years. To be authenticated you have to go to a Web site
first answer some questions they do background checks on your ISP Then
then send s special link where you give them a User name and password.
They send notice its accepted. Then you can sign in using username first
then password.

SeaMonkey is very good with newsgroups.

Yes, I used the 2.0.14 profile. This is a monthly email that showed
remote content under 2.0.14 but does not show under 2.5. Anything in

Turned off AVG but no help. Upon further investigation, the emails in
question don't even display in HTML, just straight text with many URL's.
In 2.0.14, the emails display in HTML and the "Allow Remote Content"
icon does show up. In 2.5, all I see is text, no HTML so I figure I have
to get that fixed first. Any ideas?

If you set up accounts at multiple news servers that carry the same
groups, you will see the group names listed once for each server. That
is normal. You should, however, only subscribe to one occurrence of the
groups you want to read.

From your description so far, I don't see a problem.

Others have complained about SM appearing to hang, or at least take a
ridiculously long time to do something as simple as delete an email. I'd
never seen it before, until today.

Normally the PC's been on most of the day while I've been at work, but
today the house was empty all day & I was the first home. Turned PC on
and left it un-logged in for approx. an hour.

Logged in, waited for systray icons to all appear showing all 'run' apps
completed, and opened SM Mail. It opened, downloaded 3 short text
messages. The wife read one message over my shoulder, said that message
could be deleted. So I did, or thought so, anyway.

Pressed delete key but message stayed in Inbox. Checked Deleted folder,
empty. Went back to Inbox, but only Folder pane showed any
content--thread & message panes were both blank. Assumed some background
process was taking up processor time, but Task Manager showed 99% system
idle time, and there was no network traffic.

No background CPU takeover, no scheduled tasks running, no busy network.
I left it ticking over for a full 5 minutes without change, then closed
the SM Mail window (browser never open). Verified seamonkey.exe process
was absent from Task Manager and re-opened Mail--deleted same message
again and it worked perfectly, and for everything after that.

Suggestions?

You must allow your hard working SM program to take a coffee break.
As you know that since the start of the rapid release policy
the program hasn't had a chance to stop to draw a decent breath.

problems with some php web sites

2011-10-19 Thread LMH
Lately I have had a number of problems with websites and I have no way
of telling if the issue is with the site or browser.

With this forum,
http://www.unix.com/programming/

I am able to log into my account, but when I go to a page to create a
post, none of the php tools work (text color, bold, etc). When I move
the mouse over the different buttons, I get tool tips saying what the
button does, but it acts like it is not there when I try to click on it.
Also, if I type in a message and click on preview or submit, the new
screen that comes up says the message I entered is too short and all of
the text I entered is gone.

Is there some keyboard shortcut I could have hit by accident to togel
between plain text and php mode, or something like that. I have cleared
my cache, cookies, and such, run CCleaner, restated and all that.

I have a similar problem with this site,
http://www.daniweb.com/software-development/shell-scripting/113

When I make a post there, all of the php tools also don't work, but I
can preview and submit the post. I can't think of anything that would
cause an issue like this that would not be resolved by clearing cache
and cookies.

I am running a firewall (ZoneAlarm ISS), but nothing changes if I turn
it off. Any suggestions as to what to do. Because the problem is with
creating a post, I am not able to contact the site admin to see what
they know about this.

According to my monitoring, millions of people all over the world get the http://goodfinance-blog.com/topics/credit-loans";>credit loans from
good creditors. Thus, there's good possibilities to receive a small business

DST-using states of Brazil and provinces of Australia will already be on
summer time). A table with local start and stop times of the Event in
various time zones around the world appears on the wiki page for the
event (linked below).
