Are you speaking about Windows asking for a password when start intalling ?
or
Are speaking about SeaMonkey asking for a master password when
starting it for the first time after the install ? (Did you use
SeaMonkey before, or it's the first time ?)

After install, even when uninstalled with win XP add remove and a
painstaking regedit removal because add remove does not remove it, then
reinstall of seamonkey. when sea monkey first started it asked for
master password and did not accept blank.

So, you must stop SM completely - the best approach is to reboot the pc,
without starting SM.

Add/remove programs to remove it.
Remove the directory
C:\Documents and Settings\Windows login user name\Application
Data\mozilla\seamonkey\
or C:\Documents and Settings\Windows login user name\Application
Data\mozilla\ to be sure to remove enough

Install SM
Run it - no master password need (i never entered a master password)

When we installed SeaMonkey the only password it asked for was the one
we use to access our email on the webmail server for Road Runner. It's
probably only asking you thaty.

How to set up Seamonkey as default browser

2014-04-16 Thread Wuxin
I have had difficulty in setting up Seamonkey as my default browser. I did the
Preferences-Browser but I can't get the default to work. The box says that
Seamonkey is default but it doesn't come up when I initially go online.

You really need to give more information:

What is your platform (e.g., PC, Mac, IPad)

What is your operating system, including version?

What version of SeaMonkey are you using?

Besides the addtional information requested in my other reply, I need to
understand more clearly your problem: Are you expecting SeaMonkey to
launch as soon as you establish a connection to the Internet? If so,
that will NOT happen.

I do not know of any browser that automatically launches merely because
an Internet connection exists. Indeed, I often use SeaMonkey without
any Internet connection, to view changes to my Web site before I upload
the HTML files.

Agreed. What does initially go online even mean?
How are you /doing/ that?

Back in my dial-up days, I seem to remember launching Netscape 4.7 and
then IT told the modem to dial-up. Not vice versa.
