I'm going to concentrate our effort on getting a new beta out the door within a week of Firefox's final release, if for some reason I can't, I'm planning on backing out my effort temporarily to ship another sec/stability release based on teh last full seamonkey release. That sec/stability work would delay our other work here by about a week, but I don't want to leave everyone stranded with regards to security/etc any longer than necessary. This real example in my case happens to be the number 9, but it could be any number at all (any account) The irony is that the only email account which had the variable set to 'false' was actually the 'news.mozilla.org' newsgroup account. this problem could happen after making some account, wether it be email, or a 'News group' account. Snip Ben, why did you bother posting this, as, anyone who has this problem, like you, can just post here and get the required solution, or, better yet, JUST READ BACK THROUGH THE POSTS ALREADY MADE HERE TO FIND THEIR SOLUTION. O.K., maybe those, like you, who use the lists cannot read previous posts, another good reason to connect directly to the news group rather than using the lists. IMHO, of course!! Also, it seems to me that you use the Enter button to indicate an end of line! Please*STOP* as it causes a mixture of long and short lines, as shown above. If you just type and type and type and only use the Enter button at the end of a paragraph, we can all see the lines of text wrapped at the line lengths*WE* want. If you want to see 130 characters per line, you can. If I want to see 40 characters per line, I can. If I want to see 72 characters, again, I can. Thank you for your consideration. 1 - I posted made these instruction because Ray_Net did not seem to understand some of the explanations given by trane. I thought it would be best for anyone else who had this problem. i dont know anybody who has provided details to this degree. you stated that people can just read back through the posts, but i have made a detailed post that has no equivelant before. I'm not really sure i see the difference between using news group versus a straight email to support-seamonkey Digest. Ben, do you read the posts here via the list, only, or do you read them via Google-Groups or via the news server direct and then just answer/post via the list?? As the for me using the Enter key, well i 'm not quote sure about appropriate formatting, as seamonkey is not a word procesor (although i historically use windows notepad for everything), because i'm using a 32 Inch Wide screen monitor/tv. But your right about the formatting it does come out looking incorrect. Im just so used to using the enter key to make a new line to try to get text to look appropriate, ill take up your suggestion though, i'll try to eliminate enter key (reduce unnessesary line-breaks in text) Ben No worries, Ben, as I was thinking, later, that as I think you are posting in HTML format, is doesn't limit the length of the line, so in a large paragraph, you could be three miles off to the left of screen when you press Enter!! Not real useful. But, if you compose in Notebook and then cut-and-paste into SM composer, who knows what's going on!! ;-) -- Daniel User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 SeaMonkey/2.26 Build identifier: 20140415200419 or User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.26 Build identifier: 20140408191805 ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

I assume - but don't actually know enough about SM and certificate issues to make a knowledgeable judgement - that somehow the certificate data base file on my machine is gotten corrupted somehow. Can anyone explain what has caused this problem? Is there a bug in SM 2.26/2.26.1? More important, can someone give me some step-by-step instructions on how to fix this problem? Could the problem be fixed by simply copying the relevant certificate file from a working PC? I have SM 2.24 running satisfactorily on another PC. What is the name of the file I would need to copy and substitute on the PC running SM 2.26.1 In case it is relevant, I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 as my security software but I don't think that is the problem as all of the 'Untrusted Connection' messages seem to be SM-generated. Thanks, in advance, for any and all assistance. Henrik, In Kaspersky, I had to UNcheck the HTTPS checkbox. It completely balked access to any HTTPS sites. It is most assuredly a KIS bug, at least on the Mac version. And to be more specific, if I let KIS check HTTPS connections, Safari and Firefox can access the sites fine, but SeaMonkey returns SSL peer rejected a . handshake message for unacceptable content. I think that KIS is fiddling with things and causing SM to have trouble. What version of KIS do you refer to? I have KIS 2014 and I can not find any HTTPS check box. I am also really surprised that the problem I am experiencing could be caused by KIS as all of error messages received indicate they are generated by SM 2.26.1. Help! I'm using KIS for Mac v1.4.0.1.46a.b.c.d. The setting of which I speak is found at Preferences | Protection | Web Anti-Virus | Check secure connections (HTTPS). Since KIS does monitor HTTP and HTTPS traffic, it's not a surprise that it can get in the way of what the browser sees. Eventually, I posed my problem to the Kaspersky tech support people. Works in Firefox and the source is the same. Tried SM in a clean profile, no go. Tried SM in Safe Mode, no go. The page content is supplied via javascript. I turned off js in Firefox and it produces the same blank page as SM.
