That is funny. That marketplace page does not open with Firefox or
SeaMonkey, only with Safari.

Works fine in Seamonkey 2.17 with all of its old inherent security and
compatibility issues.

Also works fine here in SeaMonkey 2.32 without the old inherent security
and compatibility issues. Came up instantly and fully. Haven't tried
installing anything, though.

Haven't tried in SeaMonkey but the two apps I test installed in Firefox
installed to Windows, put shortcuts on the desktop, and were able to be
uninstalled via Windows Programs and Features. Nothing about them
appeared anywhere in Firefox's UI, although their install info were in
folders in the FF profile.

Just to check you're looking in the right place... Lightning is accessed
from the Mail and News component (not the Browser component or anywhere
else). It should add "Events and Tasks" to the main menu there.

I'm not entirely sure why Lightning is only accessible from the Mail &

handling event invitations etc. Plus it's a bit like Outlook combining

"A" in Thunderbird is "Archive message" and I guess in gmail IMAP that

A little bit I agree. Maybe the legacy of the old Communicator UI mixed
with the separate apps FF & TB UI.

BTW, as posted by bdelmee, if you hold down the shift key when clicking
the reply button puts you in plain text mode.

Not exactly what you're asking; but I've created a Gmail account right in the
SM mail client. I drag messages from the Gmail sent folder right into my
regular SM folders.

One day I wondered if it would work, and it did. I didn't do anything special
and it hasn't caused any other problems. (I've never gotten my arms around the
Gmail web interface.)

Of course, this assumes you haven't hidden the toolbar.

You're right that the "Reply" button no longer offers the HTML option. I

Type

What are your composition settings for that account? If it has HTML
format disabled might be the issue.

For my old POP3&SMTP e-mail server account's:

Its "Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings" -> Preferences's Mail &
Newsgroups -> Send Format is "Ask me what to do (Mail prompt you to
choose a format)". Also, I don't have any domains listed (empty) in here.

Its Settings -> "Composition & Addressing" show "Compose message in HTML
format" unchecked, so I enabled it and retried but I still don't get a
prompt. :(

I don't always want e-mail repplies and forwards to be HTML/plain texts.
:/ I know in Outlook, I can change the format easily in its composer.
Can I do that in SM too?

Is it me or is SM's GUI confusing for its e-mail settings? They seem to
be all over!

Try nslookup interactively and use Google's nameservers and see what
