Have you marked them as read and deleted them from Thunderbird and the mail server before you setup SeaMonkey? I specifically said not to include any prior settings. Settings don't include emails. Those are downloaded from the server. How is the account setup? IMAP or POP? IMAP, unlike POP, specifically allows multiple clients simultaneously connected to the same mailbox, and through flags stored on the server, different clients accessing the same mailbox at the same or different times can detect state changes made by other clients. [Internet Message Access Protocol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Message_Access_Protocol) POP supports simple download-and-delete requirements for access to remote mailboxes. Although most POP clients have an option to leave mail on server after download, e-mail clients using POP generally connect, retrieve all messages, store them on the user's PC as new messages, delete them from the server, and then disconnect. [Post Office Protocol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_Office_Protocol) My POP account is configured to leave the mail on the server, where it stays as Unread, unless I use Web Mail to access the account and mark the messages read. Many ISP's use spam filtering software from companies like CloudMark. The CloudMark dictionary is proprietary and they will not discuss it. I had some big issues with Verizon since they use Cloudmark. The Cloudmark dictionary was blocking as spam certain domains with certain words in their name. When this is done, neither the sender nor the intended recipient is aware that a message was vaporized. No bounce nor notification -- the message just goes to the bit bucket. Verizon also has nothing to say about it. This is tantamount to censoring. No matter how bad spam is there should not be such unregulated and undocumented suppression. I'm being pushed to do this, because when I was forced to use Firefox the other day to do something, they updated it to version 31. As far as upgrading goes, I've discovered you can do it with wild abandon. Just uninstall the old, run the new installer. It really is as simple as that. My data has always remained intact. I install the new without effecting the previous. Sometimes the new has problems, or maybe you just don't like it. You can have as many versions as you have space on the HDD. I have had as many as twenty two. And they can all use the same profile or different profiles. When I decide I don't need/want one of them I delete it. But, to answer your question, I am using 2.33, on W7U-64, and have no issues.
