It is possible that SeaMonkey's database of root certificates is somehow
corrupted on your PC. Here is how to revert back to the default
database of roots:

1. With SeaMonkey running in the profile where you have the problem,
select [Help > Troubleshooting Information] on the menu bar.

2. On the Troubshooting Information window, under Application Basics,
select the Open Folder button to the right of Profile Folder.

3. Leaving the Windows Explorer folder for your profile open, terminate
SeaMonkey.

4. In the folder, delete the file named cert8.db. Then close the window.

5. Relaunch SeaMonkey and try Home Depot again.

No one is forced to use a single browser. SM remains my primary, having taken
over from Mozilla Suite, which in turn took over from Netscape 4, and prior, on
my primary PC, but on it I have two different constantly used SM profiles, using
different SM versions, several Firefox profiles, 3 in constant use, each using a

Here are the two types of error messages being received:

Error message type 1:

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked SeaMonkey to connect securely to patch.com, but we can't
confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, websites will present
trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place.
However, this website's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this website without problems, this error
could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the website, and you
shouldn't continue.

Technical Details

patch.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates.
An additional root certificate may need to be imported.

Error code: title="SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER">SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER

If you understand what's going on, you can tell SeaMonkey to start
trusting this website's identification. Even if you trust the website,
this error could mean that someone is tampering with your connection.

Don't add an exception unless you know there's a good reason why this
website doesn't use trusted identification.

Error message type 2:

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked SeaMonkey to connect securely to www.forbes.com, but we

to add an exception for this certificate.

Sorry you're having trouble, but I haven't noticed it at all. YouTube
performs just as well for me as it always has. I haven't tweaked it or
made any special accommodations. It just runs. The same goes for my
other video sources, the main exceptions being nhl.com and mlb.com,
which seem purposely designed to be incompatible with AdBlock Plus. ;-)
But even mlb.com is marginally tolerable if I disable ABP and mute the

Here, too, I don't share your experience. Of course I've always hated
webmails, so if there's a problem outside of POP3/IMAP/SMTP I wouldn't
know about it. Two or three times a year I go into Gmail for a few
minutes to tweak a setting or double-check the spam folder, but that's
pretty much it; the rest of the time I send/receive Gmail through
SMTP/POP3 like the rest of my accounts.

I really wish people wouldn't extrapolate from their own individual

important one to you.

Their webmaster is an idiot, designed the page layout poorly.

You have to mouse over a very thin sliver of space just under "Any
time" and "All results" to get the options for those parameters. When
the cursor turns to a hand (or whatever symbol indicates a clickable
link on your system), click and you'll see the options:

Any time   All results
Past hour  Verbatim
Past 24 hours
Past week
Past month
Past year
Custom range

It also helps if you don't set a minimum font size for "Western." The
larger your minimum font size, the harder it is to find that sliver of
clickable space.

Bad browser sniffing. They use different css instructions for SM
because they are using browser name instead of rendering engine. Add
this to the userContent.css file in your SM profile chrome folder:
