I, as an SM end user, don't like the version numbering scheme. Perhaps
the new version with the new engine (if it's possible to create) shall
be version 3.0, then comes bug fixing versions (3.0.1, 3.0.2, etc), as
was 9 or so years ago.
I really miss you Sea Monkey, you're really my savior.

If web addons have to be implemented, could that veresion be SeaMonkey 3?
The 2.x versions have like 9 or so years that are developed:

I know. What I know is that I liked SeaMonkey better than firefox and
thunderbird. The problem is that for a blind user I don't know if that
project will be ded or instantly revive in an other project, just thinking.

Development of SeaMonkey and blind users

2017-04-20 Thread Luis Carlos González Moráles
Hi all,
I-m I'm sorry that I didn't respond last year, but I don't know if
someone can create an EMail list for seamonkey for blind people? Since
the developer I say development is too technical and visual for a blind
people, can o say, I don't know what happen to the Seamonkey developer
development.
Please, not the same as what happened to the Mozilla Application suite.
It's my all day web brouser, EMail, Composer, ETC. I don't want
sepparate applications, I want all in one, internet suite that have many
potentials and is best than Firefox, Thunderbird, ETC.
If the development will be discontinued, I don't, realy, don't have any
alternative suite bassed on Mozilla App Suite nor SeaMonkey anyway on
the world. So please, continue the development, and I know, there's a
little updates like the 2 years passed, but please continue it.
In behave of the good,
L.C.H.

I am confused, what distro are you talking about? Vinux is supposedly
just Ubuntu tweaked for the visually impaired. Whether Vinux or Ubuntu
you will be using the Debian deb package system and the Ubuntu
repositories will work for you. You have a screen reader, it is
installed by default on most, (probably all), Ubuntu variants and it
 is the app Orca.

 And I don't have UbuntuZilla, and I can't install something, because I
can't use a command promt all the time to install it, cause i'm a blind
 user on SeaMonkey.

Ok. You don't have UbuntuZilla because you need to install the PPA
that extends the repositories to include this user maintained one
which adds access to SeaMonkey installer. I am an old command line
junkie so I am not familiar with GUI tools to do it. Maybe you can get
 someone to to assist you.

Ignoring newsgroups? What you did was post to both the group and to
me. You should just post to the group, that way the discussion could
help someone else with the same issue.

Well, thank you. I need someone to assist in installing a package and /
or a program, since i'm new to Linux.

I'have a cuestion: How to install SeaMonkey on Linux?
I have a soldo laptop with vinux 4.0 installed. so I'm lew to Linux. I
want to make the integrated internet suite for linux 5.0 and beyond, and
Ubuntu 15.04 and beyond to replace Firefox brouser And Thunderbird.

 Hello,

I'm new to the mailing list and seamonkey, I have been using it as my
primary browser and email client for the past week or so, liking it
 very much.

I am curious about a couple things, first is seamonkey development
still active and planning to be such in the relative future.

The reason I ask is because I want to deploy seamonkey by default in a
distribution and heavily participate and promote its development.

Which leads me to my final question. Any and all donations I want to
go to the continued development of seamonkey not mozilla in general is
there any possible way to assure this?

 thanks,

Vinux? Oh, it's a Ubuntu derivative.

I want to make the integrated internet suite for vinux 5.0 and
 beyond, and
Ubuntu 15.04 and beyond to replace:

 1: Firefox brouser because

 1: I don't like firefox, since it's only a web brouser, because

 1: I like internet suites.
2: It's all in one.

 And Thunderbird because
1: it's only a mail client.
 .

Okay there is a PPA. In a terminal:

 echo -e deb
 http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/ubuntuzilla/mozilla/apt all
 main | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntuzilla.list /dev/null

 sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com C1289A29

 sudo apt-get update

 sudo apt-get install seamonkey-mozilla-build

In Ubuntu Seamonkey installer doesn't setup a Unity launcher icon, (or
didn't) and here is what I composed.
