Many, if not most, of the themes and extensions I use require turning off the
compatibility check. I would suggest that a setting of ask rather than just
true or false would be appropriate but this is a boolean, and I think only
documented in the posts of developers. If ask were available, noting if the
item was compatible with any SM 2.x version would be useful.

Anyway, make your own choice if you should disable that check or not, it drops
responsibility on you.

Perhaps there is a 'operator headspace issue'; I can save as an xml and
open the resulting file from SeaMonkey: File|Open File (from the

what's hard about opening Word or Excel and pointing to the cvs file
and when you point to it it greyed out which indicated it unsupported.
and when you save as xml and try opening with SM2 all that shows up is
the Quicktime symbol with with question mark over top which indicates
unsupported type. I've been using a Mac since 1986 (SE/30) so I think I
know how to open files.

Didn't work for me. but the html script did work once I did away with
the extra returns.

I did not fiddle to remove some extra return, i did not click on the

then double-click on it.
I right click the link, then choice save target as then save on disk
then double-click on the saved file in explorer(not ie) and SUPER !!!

Phil,

I usually do a PDF version of these from time to time. That way I have a
snapshot of my passwords at any given time, in case some are lost in
the future. I can look back to see what they were. (Or you could just
print them out.) Otherwise, I have my View Passwords HTML document
bookmarked in SeaMonkey so that whenever I want, I bring it up for my
current passwords.

Password Manager don't seem to work in SeaMonkey V2.

This link describes what I'd been doing...

http://edmullen.net/mozilla/moz_pw.php

Ed, or anyone, what is the best way to print passwords now in version 2?

Thanks!

-George

This is nothing more then a very kludgey workaround, but if you really
need a printed copy, open Password Manager, select View Passwords,
take a screen shot and print that.

Depending on your screen res and how many passwords you have saved,
you might have to take multiple screenshots to get them all.

I know its not what you are looking for, but it will get you the copy
you need.

Lee

This link is from No. 5 on Ed Mullen's website. It works on both Firefox
3.x and Seamonkey 2.0.x:
http://the-edmeister.com/firefox_info/Firefox_Passwords_Info.html

Save the link Firefox-3_Passwords.htm as a file. Open it up in your
browser and it will shows all the Host-User name-Password data as an
HTML table.

This is way too cool! 8-)

Thanks!

Didn't work for me. but the html script did work once I did away with

Try https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2848

Only works with Firefox...not SeaMonkey.

I can remember having used this extent in firefox a long time ago, the
trick was to make available the passwords file of seamonkey to firefox
by importing seamonkey's profile in firefox...

a cvs file can be opened in a spreadsheet (excel)

You should cut paste that code and save it as an HTML file on your
hard drive. Then when you open it, you'll have a nice neat HTML
document with URL's, User names and Passwords from the password manager.
Then, print it if you'd like...or whatever. Did you save it as an HTML

SeaMonkey version here:
http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/modifiedmisc.html#passwordexporter

Phil

Installed great actually does create file in cvs or xml. But does not
open either in DreamWeaver 8 for Mac (XML) nor excel 004 or 2008 (cvs)
In fact it not recognized proper format.

maybe it worked on SM 1.1.18, but SM 1x , and 2x save information in
different files and different areas.

For example Themes in SM1.1.18 ere saved in the main Chrome Folder.
And FF 2 did as well. but in SM2 and FF3 there is nothing in Main
chrome other than User.css files I've yet to figure out where theme .jar
files are stored in SM 2 or FF 3.

Yes, and to prove it, i just posted here:
http://home.scarlet.be/~pin10521/showpassword.htm

Perhaps this link permit you to show your passwords ...
For me, it's the same result; only a table containing
***
* Host * User name * Password *
***
is showed.

what I got. when I tried.

Strange. I dunno, gentlemen. Someone with more knowledge than I will
have to figure out why it works for me, but not for you. I'm sorry.

maybe it worked on SM 1.1.18, but SM 1x , and 2x save information in
different files and different areas.

For example Themes in SM1.1.18 ere saved in the main Chrome Folder. And
FF 2 did as well. but in SM2 and FF3 there is nothing in Main chrome
other than User.css files I've yet to figure out where theme .jar files
are stored in SM 2 or FF 3.

For the record, the new code works for me with SeaMonkey 2.0.2.

The original post was autowrapped on some long lines (or perhaps it was
SeaMonkey message reader that was doing it). After saving the text to a
.html file I went trough it and rejoined those lines that were split in
the wrong places. *Then* it worked.

Golly - don't tell my machine it doesn't work. I'm using it and it sure
does. Windows XP SP3 up-to-date with SeaMonkey 2.0.2

You'll have to make a CVS file and save it in one of your spread sheet
programs (MS Office / Corel Office / Open Office). But it works fine.

The old ways I am aware of for printing a list of passwords from the

Ed, or anyone, what is the best way to print passwords now in version 2?

Thanks!

Try https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2848

Only works with Firefox...not SeaMonkey.

This is nothing more then a very kludgey workaround, but if you really
need a printed copy, open Password Manager, select View Passwords, take
a screen shot and print that.

Depending on your screen res and how many passwords you have saved, you
might have to take multiple screenshots to get them all.

I know its not what you are looking for, but it will get you the copy
you need.

Someone who really wants to use it should ask the author to add
SeaMonkey 2.x support, that should be quite easy to do in this case, and
Justin surely knows how to do it.

Golly - don't tell my machine it doesn't work. I'm using it and it sure
does. Windows XP SP3 up-to-date with SeaMonkey 2.0.2

You'll have to make a CVS file and save it in one of your spread sheet
programs (MS Office / Corel Office / Open Office). But it works fine.

I tried to install it, and I get the Incompatible Extension message:

compatible with SeaMonkey 2.0.2.
