- Translate.

Hmm.. Any help? Thanks.

Use a user agent switcher and try it with a plain Firefox user agent. Many
Google pages have broken browser sniffing now and they don't fix it.

When I try it in Seamonkey I get a message that says: "This page was not retrieved from its
original location over a secure connection.Dismiss" I also get a bar at the top that says,
"You have requested an encrypted page"

Explorer gives a slightly different message, "Translated in Safe Mode. This may cause problems
with some websites, especially those that use plugins like Flash.Click here to disable Safe
Mode" Explorer also gives a message bar at the top of the screen that says, "Try a new
browser with automatic translation.Download Google Chrome Dismiss"

The difference is that Explorer also provides a link that says, "Open this content
in a new window" Clicking on that seems to work.

I'd much prefer to be able to do this in Seamonkey. I'm not even sure where
the problem is. With Google? With my ISP? With Seamoney?

I'm running Win64 7 Pro with Seamonkey 2.26.

Suggestions please. TIA

I have the same problem in Pale Moon, and googling it shows that a LOT of
people are having issues like that lately.

My bookmark for google translate is http, yet every time I try to translate a
website the translation gets opened as https. Changing the url to http works
... most of the time.

It's high time google fixed that error - or maybe they're just trying to get
people to switch to Chrome? Not going to happen in my case, so FIX it google!

What doesn't? Are you replying to a post without quoting?

Do you have a link to such a page, so someone can try it?

It happens with ALL pages that aren't https, but german wiki is an example:

Seems to me they have fixed it by directing users to a secure (https)

I would change my bookmark.

If the page to be translated is http, it will not do it because the
original is not encrypted.

That is not the problem. My original bookmark was http, but when I
opened it, it became https. The problem is that the original page is
not encrypted, so the browser complains that the encrypted page will
contain unencrypted information.

It fails on IE too, although with a different error message complaining
content is not allowed to be displayed in a frame. Changing to http
allows it to work.

But for some reason, it works on Opera 12.17 (which I keep around to
test stuff in the Presto engine) and, not that surprisingly, in Iron
(which is nearly identical to Chrome).
