Re: [SWCollect] So obviously Mt. Drash is no longer rare....
No Joe, Drash is not on my list, never been :)... As for registration cards it is my understanding that they are just consecutively numbered and not game specific...? AFAIK this particular card can be found in all other Sierra releases of that period as well. -- Holger Bachert / Tel mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://bachert.cx ICQ#:369991 -- This message was sent to you because you are currently subscribed to the swcollect mailing list. Even if so I'm sure they would pop up if the price was right, it's just because of the prices (note each auction uses info from a previous auction) that Drash is showing up now. And it will dry up, not sure how many before it does (but not a LOT). I don't know how many Drashs have been sold... but I'd bet it was a typical bargain bin item for quite some time. And you know that 'rarity' is a quite ambiguous term, especially in our genre here - it's largely defined through supply and demand. It's not a mass hobby, thus the actual amount of available copies is not as important. And yes, meanwhile it's been offered much more often than some other game, and IMO that's all what counts. ;) -- Holger Bachert / Tel mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://bachert.cx ICQ#:369991 -- This message was sent to you because you are currently subscribed to the swcollect mailing list. Marco Thorek wrote: Is there actually a game out there of which only one single copy exists? Doubtful. However, there are a number of commercial games that were never actually published and that existed only in alpha or beta form. (I may even have a couple of these.) I don't think you'll find games much rarer than that. :) Peter
[SWCollect] Mailing list work
Just a quick note that the swcollect mailing list software is still a bit broken -- currently there is no way to subscribe or unsubscribe. I am still working on the problem and plan to have it fixed this weekend. Along those lines, I have the ability to create a threaded index of the list archives, maybe even have it searchable. For doing the most good and being the most useful, I was planning on having this searchable threaded archive be available to the public and search engines. What I would like to hear are any arguments against that so that I don't anger anyone on the list. For example: email addresses public/not public, mean words about a buyer/seller, etc. *WITH* these arguments I would like a proposed solution. Keep in mind that a public searchable threaded archive of the list is *already available* here: http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ but it only goes back four months. (The motivation behind this is part of my Master Plan(tm) for softwarecollecting.org, which is to become a big helpful source of software collecting for people new to the hobby: a FAQ, an illustrated list of MobyScale grades, photos of various shrinkwraps and how to tell which is real/fake, etc.) -- Jim Leonard ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) World's largest electronic gaming project:http://www.MobyGames.com/ A delicious slice of the demoscene:http://www.MindCandyDVD.com/ Various oldskool PC rants and ramblings: http://www.oldskool.org/ -- This message was sent to you because you are currently subscribed to the swcollect mailing list.
