RE: Accessible Driver Updater?
Hi James, You're most welcome. I can't say this for sure, but I don't think it would replace drivers on your system until you actually ran it. Indeed, I'm sure the utility has the best of intentions, but I suppose that in my case it simply goofed and so I paid for it. Smile Still, I think it's best to upgrade drivers by seeing what the manufacturer's website has on a per-device basis. And as for primary hardware devices, like hard rives, memory, etc., I would say that if it's working, leave it alone, which is an old reliable adage, for me. Smile Ah, experience is a wonderful teacher, isn't it, if we learn the lessons it offers. smile All the best, Rod -Original Message- From: James Bentley [mailto:bentleyj1...@att.net] Sent: Saturday, April 18, 2015 11:34 PM To: Rod Hutton Cc: 'Window-Eyes Discussion List' Subject: Re: Accessible Driver Updater? Hi James, Complete failure of both drives. It started with the primary drive starting to get errors, and Windows prompted me to backup the drive since clearly it was failing. So I backup that drive, and then the same thing happened to the secondary drive, a totally separate drive in the other drive bay. Had to start from scratch with brand new drives. What a nightmare. I figure the Driver Detective simply installed the wrong drivers for both drives and this unbalanced the msomehow, causing them to fail. Never again. Hello to the List, I have a Win 7 64 bit system, running Win eyes 8.4. Almost every time I use this system, some time during the usage, I loose Speech.this happens mostly when I am using I.E. 11 and attempting to read a web site. However, the system can loose speech, or Lock up and any time, it doesn't always happen when surfing the web. I have considered upgrading to Win Eyes 9.1, but am still going to wait for a 9.2. I don't want to trade fixes for one problem, and get some new ones. I have done everything I can think of to make this system as clean as possible, trying to not have software conflicts. I thought I would download and use one of those programs that update all Drivers found on the system. There are several of these kinds of programs, and some are probably better than others. Have any of you used one of these programs, and was it read well by Window eyes? If you had good results, and was not over whelmed with Pop Ups and other odd things happening after using such a program, can any of you recommend what worked for you? Re: more of the same issue with Outlook
Hello guys, you will have to play with the views in outlook. cannot give you a special setting, but if I can find some time later, will look and make some suggestions. - Original Message - From: David Loux via Talk talk@lists.window-eyes.com To: 'Jim Ruby' j...@blindsea.com; 'Window-Eyes Discussion List' talk@lists.window-eyes.com Sent: Sunday, April 19, 2015 10:22 AM Subject: RE: more of the same issue with Outlook Hi Jim, I'm curious to know if our Outlook 2007 and WE9.1 issues mirror each other. after I installed the WE9.1 version, I completely lost access to the content of Outlook messages with the arrow keys. I can review the basic content with the mouse keys, but this very much limits my editing capability, activating hyperlinks, etc. I have updated all the appropriate apps, as well as MS Outlook options. I have gone so far as to run the Outlook repair options, however, that gave me absolutely no info as to whether or not anything was repaired. From all outward appearances, the repair did nothing as far as access goes. I think my next option is to uninstall and then reinstall my full Office 2007 package. Have you tried any other ideas that you might care to share. Thanks and best wishes. I have noticed one thing which strikes me as rather strange. As I am reviewing message content with the mouse keys, it is quite clear that what represents the content of several different emails. Today, I clearly noticed that while reviewing one specific email, I found fragments of at least 2 previous emails. One I had just read, and another had content from another I replied to. Strange, although I doubt that it sheds much light on my problem. Have a great day. Re: Attention usb adapters and drivers
I thought usb3 was supposed to be backward compatible so you could use your usb2 stuff in it. I have a new computer that just has usb 3.0 ports and need to get some kind of adapter to use some old 2.0 usb appliances I have. Is there such of a thing as a usb 3.0 to usb 2.0 adapter and if there is does Window-eyes work with a lot of the software that is needed to set up such an adapter?
