Keith,

Seems that g is sending win-g to the system so appget is is started.

You can eventually redifine the hotkey to shift-win-g or something else.
Go to the window-eyes menu, alt-a for apps-menu and go to appget.
Here the help-menu and hotkey.

It might be that you are using the WindowEyes cursor instead of the mouse
cursor. Try clicking the minus sign on the numeric keypad and see if that makes
a difference Also, I understand that Windows 8 and Windows 10 make it harder to
implement the mouse cursor functionality as part of increasing security and
efficiency..

Best wishes,

Jonathan

Yes, make sure you ask for a keyboard with a num lock key and a full
keyboard. I recently ordered a Dell desktop computer and the keyboard that
came with it was not a full keyboard and it had no num lock key. I tried to

I know in the past, I have not had a lot of luck with keeping external num

Scott,

I, too, have been frustrated with UltraEdit of late, but many of the
problems seem to have been fixed with version 22.20. I have found that
running the 32-bit version on a 64-bit machine works better for me.
I have
found that responsiveness to scrolling windows is better if you set
the font
quality to zero in the configuration setup on the Advanced menu
pulldown.
The Font Quality is a combo that ranges from zero to six, but I don't
remember in which branch of the tree it is. You might also be sure
that you
don't use the inverse cursor. There is an option to use the vertical
line
in INSERT and OverType mode. Also try turning off syntax highlighting
unless you need that. I'm still experimenting to figure out if there
are
other things that make UltraEdit work better, but Version 22.20 seems
to be
a big improvement. It now closes correctly. Just to be clear, whatever
changes were made that improve things were not present in version
22.10, so
this change is part of what appears to be a minor version update.

Several people have told me they like Notepad Plus Plus. This is
usually
written with two plus symbols at the end of "Notepad" but they may
not be
pronounced unless one's punctuation is set correctly. I have tried
NotePad
Plus Plus and it is pretty good, but I had a lot of trouble with
responsiveness to cursor movement with Window-Eyes. Also, when you DOWN
ARROW from the bottom of the screen the screen scrolling seems very
slow.
The built-in FTP is harder to use for me than UltraEdit's as well.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Hello,

What text editors do all of you like, especially the programmers out

I used Ultraedit for years, but the last few versions have been getting
worse with Windoweyes and there latest 64 bit version I am not liking at
all.
TextPad has promise, but I am looking for other suggestions.
It does not need to be free, I am more than happy to pay for a good
editor.
Of course, it must work very well with Windoweyes.

Thanks and have a wonderful day.

A question about music players

2015-12-05 Thread Kenneth Son via Talk

Hello list.
Winamp seems to be giving me trouble on windows 8.1 and I want to look
for a different player.
I am looking for some kind of player that has an equalizer built into it
that we can use with scrennreaders.

Does anyone know of such a program.
I don't like flat audio.
I am spoiled with these winamp plug ins and want a good solid program
that has some kind of plugin or eq built into the music software.

Help please.
Kenneth Son.

It might be that you are using the WindowEyes cursor instead of the
mouse cursor. Try clicking the minus sign on the numeric keypad and
see if that makes a difference Also, I understand that Windows 8 and
Windows 10 make it harder to implement the mouse cursor functionality

Scott,

I, too, have been frustrated with UltraEdit of late, but many of the
problems seem to have been fixed with version 22.20. I have found that
running the 32-bit version on a 64-bit machine works better for me. I have
found that responsiveness to scrolling windows is better if you set the font
quality to zero in the configuration setup on the Advanced menu pulldown.
The Font Quality is a combo that ranges from zero to six, but I don't
remember in which branch of the tree it is. You might also be sure that you
don't use the inverse cursor. There is an option to use the vertical line
in INSERT and OverType mode. Also try turning off syntax highlighting
unless you need that. I'm still experimenting to figure out if there are
other things that make UltraEdit work better, but Version 22.20 seems to be
a big improvement. It now closes correctly. Just to be clear, whatever
changes were made that improve things were not present in version 22.10, so
this change is part of what appears to be a minor version update.

Several people have told me they like Notepad Plus Plus. This is usually
written with two plus symbols at the end of "Notepad" but they may not be
pronounced unless one's punctuation is set correctly. I have tried NotePad
Plus Plus and it is pretty good, but I had a lot of trouble with
responsiveness to cursor movement with Window-Eyes. Also, when you DOWN
ARROW from the bottom of the screen the screen scrolling seems very slow.
The built-in FTP is harder to use for me than UltraEdit's as well.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Hello,

What text editors do all of you like, especially the programmers out there.
I used Ultraedit for years, but the last few versions have been getting
worse with Windoweyes and there latest 64 bit version I am not liking at
all.
TextPad has promise, but I am looking for other suggestions.
It does not need to be free, I am more than happy to pay for a good editor.
Of course, it must work very well with Windoweyes.

Thanks and have a wonderful day.

That is because of the way that AISquared has the email set up. I also think
that the posts should not be addressed to the person and the email list
both. This causes the person to get two copies.

When replying to the List, go into the to: box and delete either the persons
address or the email list.

If you delete the person's email, the message will go to the List and the
person will get it.

If you delete the List address, then only the person will get the message,
not the entire list.
