Re: Window Eyes and ZoomText or Fusion?

2015-12-08 Thread Reeva Webb via Talk
I have been using we and zt together for the past year and a half. I'm
avout 2 and a half weeks into my fusion trial and i'm making plans to pay
the $400 to upgrade. It's basically we and zt finally working good
together. It's worth it just for speech and focus actually tracking alone.
Keep in mind this is new software the downsides i'm about to list may
change with updates. The biggest one in my opinion is voices if you are a
dectalk or eloquence fan you'll have to get those voices from a 3rd party
as they do not come with fusion and the versions on the website for sale
for we for office will not work with fusion. If like me you bought/want
vocalizer classic voices like jill as i bought her for we for office at
this time you're outta luck. You get vocalizer expressive tom, ava,
samantha and allison and neospeech kate and paul. Ai2 people if y'all read
this PLEASE PLEASE make the we for office voices available for purchase on
the gw site work with fusion. I know some of this is up to the tts company
that licenses the voices to y'all but y'all are gonna have people like me
coming over from using we and zt as seperate products together who are
gonna want dectalk and eloquence or in my case i bought vocalizer classic
for jill for we for office nuance got rid of her when they came out with
vocalizer expressive. I don't think it's too much to ask for people who
bought voices for we for office or people coming over from the retail
version of we to get to use the voices we paid for already with fusion.
At this time the chrome web browser is not supported by fusion. The last
downside is if you use the old zt keyboard, the one with the circle buttons
on top. You're gonna have to buy the new zt keyboard the old version does
not work with fusion. I highly suggest downloading the 60 day trial to see
if you like it. It's easy to get used to as there's a we keybord layout and
you can use all the apps from app central.

Windows 10

2015-12-08 Thread Don H via Talk
I made the upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and am very happy with
the decision. WE works well with it. Only real issue is that IE 11
stills has all the same issues as it has had and the new browser Edge is
still not accessible. Until Edge is made accessible it is impossible if
it will work better than IE.
If you don't like the new start menu classic shell works well with
Windows 10.

Hello list members,
This is a warning to not update the Microsoft outlook for today. I
downloaded and installed the windows update for this month, that consisted
of about 18 updates. After installing and rebooting my windows 7 computer,
my windows outlook 10 started in safe mode. I had to go to the Microsoft
disability phone line and they took over my computer to remove the update
and hide it until they fix the update later this month. It is ok to install
all of the other updates, but do not install the outlook update or your
outlook will start in safe mode. I hope that this helps all of you.

You can find the hourly chime app from the app central website which is
where all Window-eyes apps are archived. However, a quicker way to download
and install the app can be obtained from the app get app by pressing the
windows key g combination to launch the app. After the app launches press
the find command key and type hourly chime. Take it from there.

I have the hourly chime app installed, and it is speaking using Window-eyes

female voice on my laptop computer. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the

I have started getting a message to upgrade to Windows 10, which I do not
intend to do. There's nothing in it to say "don't ask me anymore." Even
after closing it, it pops up again and again. It also seems to make the
computer unrsponsive when the Win 10 message is open.

Any suggestions as to how to get rid of this annoyance?

Thanks!

RE: Accessible Content Management Systems

2015-12-08 Thread Scott Wheat via Talk
Hi Janet,

Joomla can work fairly well with WindowEyes. There are a couple things you
need to do to make the Administrator back end work better. If you end up
deciding on Joomla, let me know and I will try to give you a couple of
pointers.
Probably the best thing you can do is download both WordPress and Joomla and
play with them a little to see what is going to work for you.

While we're on the discussion of that pesky get windows 10 installer thing,
just for the heck of it, after I uninstalled the KB35583 update, I did a
check for updates, and in the results, I found two links.
One link was labeled (one important update), and the other was labeled (16
optional updates). I'm wondering what would happen if I were to press enter
on either of these? Have any of you ever scene these two links when you've
done a check for updates after removeing the get windows 10 stuff?

before you upgrade download the compatibility tool. its probibly on the
microsoft web site and check your system to see if you need new drivers or new
versions of programs you have installed.

you need win eyes 9.2.
openbook 8 works , except for the freedom import printer, which is used to
import scanned pdf files.

wlm 2012 works

the media center will be removed if you do a clean install. but you can not do
this until after the first in place upgrade. then a clean install.

Sorry for the plug, but just to let you know, if you don't upgrade to Windows
10 before July of next year, you will have to pay for it. Might as well get it
for nothing then while it's on offer me thinks. Again sorry for the plug and am
sure you have good intentions not to upgrade. But I am one of those who
believes in "the more, the merrier" i.e. the more who knows about this offer,
the more people will upgrade.

Re: Persistent Windows 10 offer

2015-12-08 Thread Marvin Commerford via Talk
Hi. It restarts itself often. I alt-tab away from it. Leaving it in
the task list means that it won't interrupt any other tasks when it
comes back up.

upgrade and be done with it. I am not sure how to tell you to remove the
whole possibility!

Thanks!
Marilyn

Sorry for the plug, but just to let you know, if you don't upgrade to Windows
10 before July of next year, you will have to pay for it. Might as well get it
for nothing then while it's on offer me thinks. Again sorry for the plug and am
sure you have good intentions not to upgrade. But I am one of those who
believes in "the more, the merrier" i.e. the more who knows about this offer,
the more people will upgrade.

To: Window-Eyes Discussion List Noticed today that the warning message that was coming up with
Microsoft

Edge to switch to IE as your default browser no longer comes up.
Running latest version of Windows 10. Hopefully Ai Squared will
now
release an app or what ever it takes to make Edge more user
friendly
