I don't have Thunderbird, just Microsoft. Is it the same? I tried and nothing
happened.

Hi Nick!
After emptying the folder with the CTRL-A go check the trash folder.
The messages that you just deleted should wind up in the trash folder
unless you have your system set to empty trash each time you exit
ThunderBird. Generally what I do after deleting mail from a folder is
exit that particular folder and then re-enter it and see iff there is
anything still there. Good Luck A Great Day! de

Re: deleting unwanted messages

2016-02-09 Thread Tom Kingston via Talk
After deleting any messages I just hit the status line hot key. It tells
me how many were moved from the current folder to trash followed by
unread count and total count. So if I delete all it will say, moved x
messages from current folder name to Trash, Unread 0, Total 0.

A Windows10 Setting May Be A Problem

2016-02-09 Thread Rick Thomas via Talk
Hi:
I was getting some focus problems in desktop and in internet explorer,
sometimes the up and down arrow keys would stop working in the middle of
reading or a read to end.
I found out there is a Windows10 setting that will automatically pop up a
window from time to time that is pretty much inaccessible and doesn't even
read, no title bar and you cant route the mouse to it - it just \seems
nothing is there.
Using narrator I would hear "Send us feedback" when it would pop up but
nothing with Windoweyes.
There is a setting that allows us to turn off this automatic request from
Microsoft to send them feedback and I found it and turned it off.
After a couple of days now the problems seemingly are much better.
It still happens but not nearly as frequently.
My guess there is something else automatically happening to cause focus to
jump around and sometimes end up in the task bar but I havent found that one
yet.
So if you are having this type of problem find the setting to turn off the
automatic requests for sending Microsoft feedback and set it to never.
You can still send them feedback but you wont get asked many times each day
to do it and this nasty inaccessible window wont pop up - or at least not so
often.
I forget how I got to it, I was just following some google posting but if
you cant find it easily I will go back and find out how to get to it.

Hi: I just got your message but still havent gotten my own messages I sent

My original message hit the archives quickly but have not been posted to my
in-box but I did get your message sosome messages are getting routed
properly I guess, others delayed or dropped and I wont know until, unless my
original messages post back to my in-box.
They should have posted before responses to the message me thinks unless
they are being held up for some reason.
Anyway, pertaining to the original message, there was nothing on this
sketting that I saw in any of the WE docs if it is in them, where did you
find the documentation about this little problem and the setting?

Is WE EList screwed up again?

2016-02-09 Thread Rick Thomas via Talk
Hi: I have been getting no messages from the talk list.
I just posted to it but nothing has hit my in-box.
I then posted to a couple of other Elists like blind programming and finance
and they hit my in-box almost immediately along with other messages coming
into my in-box.
My messages show up on the WindowEyes talk list archives for feb ninth but
are seemingly not being sent out, at least not to me.
I get, have setup as pass through to my in-box, any spam so that should not
be the problem.
So...
What is going on here, again?
Is there some black list WindowEyes has found itself on out there?
Is Freedom Scientific doing it?
Is the WindowEyes Elist server managed poorly?
Is there something wrong with my setup?
As mentioned this is the only list that has problems, others are working
perfectly.
Perhaps the messages are being delayed?
Since I cant, seemingly so far, get messages I will have to revisit the
archives to see if anyone respon\ds, if not then nobody may be getting some,
or all, messages.
This AI Squared set of lists are the worst set of lists I have ever been on
and I have been on lists going on 20 years now.
Rick USA.

You can press the Windows key, and when Cortana comes up, type Internet, and

this will probably point you to IE. But a better way is to find out where IE

is on your taskbar. If it is the fourth item from the left, for example, you

can type the combination Windows-4 (the 4 is on the number row) and IE will
start up. Or you can press Windows-T, use the arrow keys to move right or
left to Internet Explorer, then the context-menu key to open a jump list for

I E. You can up or down arrow through the jump list and open frequently used

websites using I E. Same methodology can be used for Firefox, the Windows
file explorer, or other programs that you pin to the taskbar.

2016-02-09 Thread Tom Kingston via Talk

Here's how to create a desktop shortcut and/or hot key on Windows 10
1. Open the cortana search box.
2. Start typing Internet Explorer until it appears.
3. Press the Application key to open the context menu.
4. Activate "Open file location".
5. You'll land on the shortcut to IE in the Start menu folder.
6. You can either open the context menu, Properties, and add a shortcut
key, or, open the context menu, Send to, Desktop (create shortcut). Then
you can add a shortcut to the desktop item via Properties in the context
menu.

My guess there is something else automatically happening to cause focus to
jump around and sometimes end up in the task bar but I havent found that
one
yet.
So if you are having this type of problem find the setting to turn off the
automatic requests for sending Microsoft feedback and set it to never.
You can still send them feedback but you wont get asked many times each
day
to do it and this nasty inaccessible window wont pop up - or at least not
so
often.
I forget how I got to it, I was just following some google posting but if
you cant find it easily I will go back and find out how to get to it.

It's easy to change the default browser in Windows 10. Just hit your
windows key and that will pop up a search box. Type in default browser
and hit enter and when you hit your tab key you should hear the current
default browser. If you want to change to another browser, just enter
on the current default and you can then tab through your browser
choices. Just hit enter on the one you want to be your new default, and
your done.

5. You'll land on the shortcut to IE in the Start menu folder.
6. You can either open the context menu, Properties, and add a

You can press the Windows key, and when Cortana comes up, type
Internet, and

this will probably point you to IE. But a better way is to find out

unread count and total count. So if I delete all it will say, moved x

After deleting any messages I just hit the status line hot key. It tells
me how many were moved from the current folder to trash followed by
unread count and total count. So if I delete all it will say, moved x
messages from current folder name to Trash, Unread 0, Total 0.

Re: deleting unwanted messages

2016-02-09 Thread Tom Kingston via Talk

Nick,

All you have to do to empty the trash folder is to move to it without
tabbing into the message list, open the context menu, and there will be
an Empty Trash option.

And with a POP account, unless you've specifically configured it to
leave copies on the server they are removed when you get your mail,
which is downloaded to your computer when using a client like
Thunderbird instead of a web based client.

Hth,
Tom
