RE: Need an answering machine software solution

2016-04-21 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk
Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the info.
Unfortunately, here in Canada, we don't have this service provider.
As it turns out, I decided to re-subscribe to the call display service with
Bell, and, with the piece of software I mentioned, I set up email
notifications of caller info.
I'm also considering buying a voice modem or other reliable hardware to
handle the voice messages callers might leave.
For now, I'm satisfied with my setup.

Thanks again,

Rod

Hello, something else that works to. Is Time Warner has something called
answer anywhere. It is basically a list of phone numbers that you can Aaron
on their website. And then whenever it is turned on, all those phones will
start ringing. Dean on the first phone that you configure to do this it will
be in charge of receiving the voice mails. You can easily go back to that
phone, And check the answering machine that way. Or you can look it it's
caller ID evidence and accessible cell phone like mine is. I Love this
feature for whenever I happen to be out and I'm expecting a phone call.

Hey Rod,

I don't know if this will fit your needs, but here's my setup.

For caller ID I have two methods. My cordless phones (Panasonic I think)
have audible caller ID. And be it that the phone companies are trying to
drive everyone off of land lines I switched my land line to my internet
service provider a couple years ago for a fraction of the price.

I can go to their site and look at my call history. And they also convert my
messages to text and send them to me via email. Of course I still get the
audio message on my phone. So it might be worth looking into.

Hi,

I have a good quality USB modem which has worked well up to now for a
software-based talking call display solution on a land line with the help of
the Ascendis Caller ID software (http://ascendis.com).
What I would like to do now is to use either a Windows 7 or Windows 10
machine to set up a software-based ansering machine.
Ideally, I would like the software to answer the land line, play a greeting,
store the caller's message, and notify me via SMS text message and/or email
and even attach the voice file to these messages.
I have tried an application called Phoner (http://www.phoner.de), and I
can't quite get the answering machine to work.
I would love to hear anyone's experiences and suggestions on this topic,
knowing full well that this is not an easy problem to solve, especially
given that such a solution would need to be accessible via Window-Eyes for
me to be able to use it effectively.

Thanks so much,

Rod Hutton

Re: Microsoft Go To Webinar

2016-04-21 Thread Marc Solomon via Talk
Kenneth,
It might be possible to create Hotspots that automate mouse driven tasks such
as toggling the microphone and clicking on other parts of the user interface.
But, I don't think Hotspots could be used to announce the names, roles and
values of user interface controls. For example, you might be able to click on
the microphone toggle button, but you wouldn't know if you toggled it on our
off.

Re: Microsoft Go To Webinar

2016-04-21 Thread Kenneth Son via Talk

Hello Marc.
Regarding the current subject, would it be possible to make mouse
hotspots for the different parts of the screen one would need to access?
I guess you would have to make several hotspots for not only the top
level of the program but you would have to make hotspots for choices
within different parts of the screen.
I tried using some kind of web interface by clicking on some webinar
links and I was not able to get around the web interface.
If I could get the desktop version I wouldn't mind playing around with
it to see what I can get it to do but I would have to find a friend or
someone who is familiar with the Webinar program to point me in the
right directions for setting up hotspots if hotspots are even possible
to set up.
I don't know why more main stream businesses seem to reject the talking
communities client but you hardly ever hear of this easily accessable
program being used.

Talking communities seems to have a nice interface for all to use.

Thank you for your help.
Kenneth Son.

as I arrowed down reading the page, WE9.4 stopped talking and firefox
stopped responding.

I restarted Firefox and retried

using the special page for screen readers:

As I got to the end of the article WE9.4 stopped talking and firefox
stopped responding.

Is their something I can do to fix this problem?

Re: Microsoft Go To Webinar

2016-04-21 Thread Marc Solomon via Talk
Kenneth,
The desktop versions of GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar by Citrix have never had
good keyboard support and I don't think that has changed recently. This makes
both tools very difficult or impossible to use with a screen reader. These
limitations include controlling the microphone, using chat or the attendees
list. Wish I had better news to report.
Regards,
Marc

Re: Cortana

2016-04-21 Thread Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc. via Talk

I used Ms. Cortana on my Android phone. I even got her to sing a bit!

We couldn't go out on a date because she kept being too overtly possessive;
I was no longer able to use OK Google. So we parted ways!

Since I don't run any incarnation of Windows10 at this time, it will be a
while before I can try shaking hands with her again to see if we can mend
fences.

  Hi,
I was reading an excel file, and I open the windows 7 calculator.
I added a dozen numbers and when I came back to the excel file, WE9.4
would not read. I control alt w and nothing happened. I ran my batch
file to kill WE9.4 and started WE9.4 and it did read the file, but
control alt w was still not functioning which, for me, means WE9.4 is
still corrupt.
Does anyone know what is going on?
If I am starting WE9.4, why is it still corrupt?
I find that when WE9.4 is not behaving properly, and a restart is not
responding to control alt w, I reboot the computer because that's the
only fix.
Is this an isolated incident, or you getting other users complaining
about this problem?
Lastly, is their a fix?
Many thanks,
Manny

Here are three things to check: your internet service provider settings,
your E-mail program settings, and your antivirus program settings. Inmy
case, I found that my antivirus program was placing mesages in my junk
folder. There was no indication that these messages were classified as
harmful or infected. Once I reclassified these messages as not spam, I could
move them. The settings for my ISP and E-mail programs were not the culprit.

I know there's a way to turn it off. But it's been years since I figured

Go to Security and then the Junk tab. Under that tab there's a check box
to turn off Adaptive junk filtering or something like that.
You might also just try Googling something like "junk filtering in

Good luck,

RE: what's up with the list?

2016-04-21 Thread Rick Thomas via Talk
Hi: Same here but not so often.
I either go into the WindowEyes website and fix the problem as described in
their e-mail message or click it and respond to ReActivate the account.
This does not happen with any other lists I am on.
There can be several reasons it is happening but there is, as far as I know,
not much you can do at your end to fix it.
Some have said that switching e-mail providers might help - don't know and
that would depend on the reason causing the bounces back to their servers
even if only messages.

Subject: what's up with the list?

Hi there!
About once a week I receive a message stating that my membership in this
list is terminated due to excessive bounces. I have been using the same
eMail for years and now am having to re-confirm my membership on a
fairly regular basis..? Does anyone have any ideas on what might be
going on? THANKS!.
