Hi Jim, I didn't keep a copy of my original message, but its easy to reset your default browser. First hit your windows key to open a search box. Type "default browser" and hit enter. You'll find a button labeled with the name of your current default browser. Hit enter on that button and you will then be given a choice of browsers listed on your computer that you can make your new default browser. Re: Microsoft Voices
I think you have to be running Windows 8.1 or 10. It shows up as a SAPI 5 synthesizer, I think. I like it for straight reading (my wife doesn't) but it is not very responsive to single-character input, similar to to Microsoft Ana and to the Microsoft Server Platform TTS. Re: Audible
Using Internet Explorer with both Windows 7 and 10, My library presents with one table, if I navigate to that table, I end up at the start of my list of books. If I navigate by Form control, I end up at a drop down box that allows one to deliver the book to whichever of my devices I select. I then shift+tab once and that puts me on the download link. Audible.com changes the way the library displays in a lot of odd ways if you change settings. I have mine set to download in Enhanced mode and I think that quality level is one of the things that changes the way things display. I also have some trouble with the boxes to change details like how many books to display and how far back to go with purchase date. But I am usually able to eventually get the settings to change. I have noticed that these things work better and better as I reduce the number of titles to display per page. I generally set it to the minimum now just to make things as easy as possible. A quirk I haven't been able to get past with the library search feature is when my library includes one or more books in which a particular author has collaborated with another author. No matter how many books by the author I am searching are in my library, only the multiple author titles appear in the search results. Very frustrating. I doubt that this has anything to do with Window-eyes, but it doesn't seem to happen if someone searches my library without a screen reader, so I wonder if it is caused by something that only functions if accessibility software is being used. For me, given the size of my library, this is the issue with the library that causes me the most trouble. I have been considering learning to use NVDA both as a backup and for use with certain sites that seem to work better with that screen reader. I don't know about the library, but NVDA still displays the portion of the publisher's description that pops up when those using the mouse place the pointer over the right spot on the book's listing in search results. It could be worth a try to check out the library with NVDA to find out what it does differently if you already use it or don't mind installing it and giving it a try. i would check with casper support because there doing some inhancements to the software to work better with win 10. if your kloning your drive for a complete mirror backup of the entire system. maybe a easier thing would be is to use a cloud option such as dropbox to store ongoing working files then once a month update your kloned backup drive. thats how i do it and it works perfectly. using casper. - Original Message - From: "via Talk" To: ; "Window-Eyes Discussion List" Sent: Saturday, June 04, 2016 11:01 AM Subject: Re: Backup solution I use Macrium's reflect home edition which is mostly, but not completely accessible. Their new and improved web site is battered and broken. I just purchased a book but can't download it. To start with, the library will only display my books for the last six months no matter what I choose. Fortunately, this does display the book I want. However, in order to get download options, I must hover the mouse over the title or the clip art. How can one do this with Window-Eyes 9.4? Routing the mouse does not do this. I am using Windows 7 64-bit pro. I wonder why the goons at Amazon/Audible make things so hard to use with the PC? Sorry for the rant, but it just gets frustrating. > ___ > Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. > > For membership options, visit http://lists.window-eyes.com/options.cgi/talk-window-eyes.com/yusuf.osman%40 yusufosman.org.uk. > For subscription options, visit http://lists.window-eyes.com/listinfo.cgi/talk-window-eyes.com > List archives can be found at http://lists.window-eyes.com/private.cgi/talk-window-eyes.com ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. There used to be a link at the top of the audible website which took you to a more accessible version of the site. Is that still there? If you go to your library via that link first can you access the download feature more easily?
