Re: somewhat off topic--can i text someone's phone from my computer
for AT,you would do the following: 1. In your emailer on your PC, go to the TO: field. 2. In that field, you would type: 1234567...@txt.att.net where the numbers above you'd replace with the actual phone number to which you want to send a text message. You can skip over the Subject: heading and send up to 250 characters in the text message. Hope this helps.--Matthew Chao On 8/19/2016 5:29 PM, Smith, Veronica via Talk wrote: So I was just curious, since I've never heard of this, but say I want to send a text from my computer and I use AT, what exactly do I do. RE: somewhat off topic--can i text someone's phone from my computer
There are a number of portals for sending texts from mobile phones. At work I use SMS Global. I am not sure of what costs (if any) are involved but it allows sending a text from a computer and receiving a return text from a mobile. If you obtain services through SMS Global, you simply enter the mobile phone num...@email.smsglobal.com. The only drawback sI have had are that the texts can only be 2-3 lines of an email screen in length and it may take somewhat longer for the reply to reach the sender. -Original Message- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+kube=netspace.net...@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Ted Larson via Talk Sent: Thursday, 18 August 2016 11:36 AM To: 'Don H' <lmdd...@comcast.net>; 'Window-Eyes Discussion List' <talk@lists.window-eyes.com> Subject: RE: somewhat off topic--can i text someone's phone from my computer Don: Thanks for your reply. Re: somewhat off topic--can i text someone's phone from my computer
here you go: This site aims to be the most complete and up to date list of email addresses that can be used to send text messages to phones. Hence email text messages or email-to-sms. This is the most simple way of sending text messages from the internet or from your computer to phones. These email addresses essentially act as a direct link to a carriers SMS gateway. Most other lists of carrier's text messaging email addresses are out of date and obsolete in 2007. The biggest change being Cingular consolidating everything to a new ATT email address for their wireless subscribers. This list can be used to help developers develop free text messaging solutions and services. The list includes US, Canadian and international mobile carriers for worldwide texting. Sure you can, depending on the carrier they have a particular email address where you can text. I think there are websites out there where you don't even have to know the carrier.
