Re: Suggestions for the next version of Window-Eyes

2015-11-30 Thread Curtis Delzer via Talk
The suggestion is that window-eyes auto read, every time the
window(s) changes, the "title" of the window.
Try hitting control-tab in any program with multiple windows and
window-eyes will NOT read the window title.
EVEN WHEN INSTRUCTED TO DO SO, automatically. I can have it read the
title with the "title" command, but NOT automatically.

Hi AI Squared staff. Sky here. I have a suggestion for the next version of
Window-Eyes. In other screen readers, like JAWS, NVDA, and System Access, if
I open up a dialog box, JAWS will read the dialog box, but not the entire
contents. For example, when I go into the run dialog box, JAWS, NVDA, and
System Access will say, "Run. Type the name of the folder, document, or
internet resource, and windows will open it for you. Followed by open combo
edit. In Window-Eyes, not only will it read the run information, but it will
read the buttons in tab order. Why is it doing that? It would be wonderful
for Window-Eyes to just read the dialog box, but not do a lot of yapping and
yapping.

Yes but the point here is he wants smart reading of message boxes and
dialog. This means that the screen reader read the static text relating to
the edit box or button without reading the whole thing. This has been
something I have asked for in the past.

Not only that, but window-eyes does not read the name of the active tab
when it is changed using ctrl+tab. This also has been something I reported
on a number of ocations.
