Re: speech friendly email client

2022-10-30 Thread Rod Hutton via Talk

Hi Butch,

Indeed, referring to the post by Steve Jacobson, it occurs that were you to
forward your email to Gmail, you could still use Becky.
Also, Windows mail comes with windows 10.
Although the last time I tried it, it was a bit of a hassle, it is free and all
you have to do is configure it.

Good luck,

Rod

RE: speech friendly email client

2022-10-29 Thread Steve Jacobson via Talk
Butch,

You may have to switch, but please know that Becky does support the relatively
new OAUTH2 or whatever it is that Gmail requires. You might have to upgrade to
the latest version of Becky to get it, though.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Yes ... that's my understanding of the Microsoft program called Office 365.
This gives you access to all of Office both the web internet, and the Windows
versions.

My employer has a corporate license, which extends to my use at home, so I
can't give you exact links and details, but if you query of Office 365 you
should have no trouble finding it. I do believe you have to download
everything, they don't give you physical discs and manuals.

benefits of calendaring, tasking, etc. I have to say, I don't know what I'd do
without Outlook calendars, since I keep my and my wife's calendars mixed
together, and I see them both at home on both of our pcs and at work on both of
our pcs, it's really worth learning how to use Outlook calendars I believe.

RE: email client

2016-03-14 Thread Chip Orange via Talk
Hello,

I'll put in one vote for updating your Outlook to whatever version you can now
get from MS. Don't know if you are aware, but you don't have to pay a large
price up front, you can pay something like $5 a month for Office 365 and you
get all of the Office programs.

Since you're used to Outlook, and since AI has put so much work into making
Outlook work well with WE, why not give it a try? You also get all the side
benefits of calendaring, tasking, etc. I have to say, I don't know what I'd do
without Outlook calendars, since I keep my and my wife's calendars mixed
together, and I see them both at home on both of our pcs and at work on both of
our pcs, it's really worth learning how to use Outlook calendars I believe.

One thing in Becky, with window-eyes, you can hear the progress
indicator when a message goes out, and there is an "out box" which is
only use for messages in transit, where under that same folder is
"sent mail," where only "sent" messages are stored.

Matthew, is there a status line in Becky? for example, after sending

Becky to save a copy of my sent messages? Do I need to create a
folder for that, or does Becky save them on my machine by default?
Thanks for any help.

The Sent folder saves messages you sent out to others; sometimes one
needs to refer back to them, such as in a warranty dispute, e.g., I sent
you a message about this issue on such and such a date. A neat trick,
as you can refer to a specific message when you need to - a high-tech
way of documentation.--Matthew Chao

Matthew, is there a status line in Becky? for example, after sending a
message, is there a line that says, message sent successfully, or something
like that? If so, how can I read it? Also, how can I get Becky to save a
copy of my sent messages? Do I need to create a folder for that, or does
Becky save them on my machine by default? Thanks for any help.

For years I used Eudora 7, but stopped when I could never get it to run
properly in Win 7. And since Eudora is no longer getting updated, I
figured as much as I love Eudora, the time had come to move to another
email Client.

I have yet to find one that I believe works as easily as Eudora.

Thunderbird Sucks, and Becky is usable, and yet it has it own problems.

I currently use Becky, but it does not always get along with WE 9.X Gee,
what a Surprise!

WE 9.3 lost the ability to Read to End in emails Recieved as well as
Emails getting written.

Speech tends to disapear while writing text, and if you move around too
swiftly, the speech can drop out, requiring a Restart of WE 9.

If you happen to try a different Email program than the typical three,
let the list know how well you like it.

Becky works, probably as well as anything else you will hear about.
Everything seems to have its problems.

I am thinking of giving WLM a try.

RE: What is the best Email client for Windows 10?

2016-01-03 Thread Jim Grimsby JR. via Talk
Well if you ask me the best e-mail client for windows for ever is Microsoft
outlook sorry you are just not going to get better features then with
Microsoft outlook. It works a treat with every screen reader I have tried
it with. It sinks quite nicely with my ICloud so all the contacts and
other information finds its way to my IPhone. Maybe someday I will be
able to get all the apps in windows and then can use nothing but windows.
As I said outlook does the job for me quite nicely.

Because of the bug in WLM, I cannot use it for multiple email lists. Thus
will have to bite the bullet, install a new email client and reconstruct my
email lists.

What is the best email client to use with WE?

Hi.
I've been using Becky email, for a few years and really like it. It works well
with Window Eyes. It costs $40 and Chris Grabowski has done a ttorial on it.
There's a couple changes you make, when installing to allow it to work with
screenreaders. The updates are free.

Re: What is the best Email client for Windows 10?

2016-01-03 Thread via Talk

Good Hunting

Hi Butch,

Thunderbird comes to mind. After than, probably Windows Live mail.
Then after than, who knows.

I use a program named Becky, which I find works well enough. Sort of a
Cross between the old Eudora and Thunderbird.Becky is not Free, $40
to purchase it.

Others may know of other email programs.

As for tutorials, Seems like I have seen some from GW Micro for
Thunderbird and Window Live Mail. You may want to visit the GW Micro
web site to check in their Audio Support area, where they have MP3 files
that cover all kinds of stuff.
