[OSM-legal-talk] Insurance for Mapping Party
Hi, Slightly different legal question than licence issues. Not sure if this is the right place to ask it, but here goes... When organising a mapping party do we need public liability insurance in case of accident and/or disclaimer to be signed?. I am organising a mapping party in the Scotland. We are using a public building from an organisation who have kindly let us use their facilities for the day. They have asked if we have insurance in case of accident and if we have a risk assessment. It seems health and safety has finally caught up with OSM. In the past, I have organised mapping events but this issue has not been raised. Can anyone provide some advice on this issue? Re: [OSM-legal-talk] Insurance for Mapping Party
I actually have some experience in this area, but keep in mind that the requirements may vary significantly by country. Some form of insurance is likely to be required by some organizations. I know the group bike rides I used to go on had insurance. On the other hand, if all you're using their space for is meeting and computer-based activities they might not require insurance. A risk assessment should be fairly easy, there aren't many risks. The biggest risk I can think of is if you're outside on roadways subject to the hazard of being struck by vehicles, and the preventative measures are pretty easy, wear a high-vis vest (compliant with CSA Z96, ANSI/ISEA 107 or EN 471 as applicable). Depending on what you're mapping, this might not be an issue. If you're mapping footpaths it wouldn't be, but if you decided to map highway features by foot it would be. [OSM-talk] Redaction process is hogging up the tile rendering
Hi. I made some edits in Iceland yesterday before midnight UTC and the changes have yet to be drawn (around noon UTC). I think the redaction process is causing a major backlog in the tile rendering queue. Backlogs have usually been worked on and finished during the night but that was not the case last night. Is there a possibility to make tile rendering from redaction bot edits lower priority so users can see their mapping results a bit faster? I think the redaction process is causing a major backlog in the tile rendering queue. Backlogs have usually been worked on and finished during the night but that was not the case last night. It is even worse. Due to a software incompability between Osmosis and the redaction bot, no updates will go at all to the map. This is not a problem of the rendering server backlog. It is a problem of the minute diff generation. It may take up to a month until we see the currently made edits. This affects all data comsumers, the mapnik map included, because nobody gets at the moment data updates. [OSM-talk] Update on redaction bot and minutely diffs
As I mentioned yesterday, the bot caused some problems with minutely diffs. Andy just sent a more detailed message about the technical problems to the rebuild list but here is a quick update for the user side of things. Some invalid diffs were generated yesterday. These have been removed from planet.osm.org and replaced this morning with valid files after a workaround was put into osmosis. This means that if you have a setup that is consuming minutely diffs, you may need to manually intervene. According to Grant, the last valid diff was: http://planet.openstreetmap.org/redaction-period/minute-replicate/000/141/272.osc.gz So you will want to stop osmosis and replace its state.txt file with the contents of: http://planet.openstreetmap.org/redaction-period/minute-replicate/000/141/272.state.txt And then restart your minutely update process. The first 20 or so diffs are substantially larger than normal so it may take a while to catch up. As for the bot itself, it was stopped after a few hours yesterday because some problems were discovered with its handling of relation members. Again, see the rebuild list for details. The short version is that he fixed it and as of a few minutes ago the bot is running again. There was also a problem caused in JOSM which might affect you if you are working in an area with other people. If someone else deletes a node and then you try to update it, JOSM had problems dealing with the deleted node because of a slight change in the API. This has already been fixed according to this trac ticket: http://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/7847 So I think we've had our glitches. Re: [OSM-talk] Update on redaction bot and minutely diffs
Andy just pointed out that it should probably be mentioned that you only need to mess with the osmosis state file if your osmosis was up to date with planet.osm.org when the invalid diffs were generated and it progressed beyond sequence number 141272. I believe Grant deleted the invalid diffs pretty quickly so if you were trailing behind on updates or if you only update periodically, your osmosis may not have gotten up to the invalid diffs and no action is required. So check the sequence number before replacing the state file.
Re: [Talk-it] [OT] Re: access destination
Questa è una tua interpretazione; il wiki dice diversamente: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Access Use the access=* key to describe a general access restriction that applies to all transport modes. Where different restrictions apply to different modes of transport then mode specific tags can be used. These modal tags each have a place in a hierarchy in which keys become narrower in scope as they branch out from the root. *Access = private* Per quanto riguarda access=private, per me il wiki è inconsistente. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Access dice chiaro e tondo: private - Only with permission of the owner on an individual basis La dicitura Where different restrictions apply to different modes of transport then mode specific tags can be used. These modal tags each have a place in a hierarchy in which keys become narrower in scope as they branch out from the root. non ha senso in caso di private. . Access = private Per quanto riguarda access=private, per me il wiki è inconsistente. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Access dice chiaro e tondo: private - Only with permission of the owner on an individual basis Dice anche: yes - The public has an official, legally-enshrined right of access, i.e. it's a right of way La dicitura Where different restrictions apply to different modes of transport then mode specific tags can be used. These modal tags each have a place in a hierarchy in which keys become narrower in scope as they branch out from the root. non ha senso in caso di private. Re: [Talk-it] Vialetti in parchi urbani

-- Elena ``of Valhalla'' ___ Talk-it mailing list Talk-it@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-it

:) kde a jakých? Nic lepšího, než ortofoto a satelitní snímky neznám. [Talk-cz] ruian a automatizace?
