Yes, long before twitter, long before facebook, this list existed. It
still exists. It will continue to exist as long as the box by my
right-foot can be bothered to do what it does. Come on then, let's
have a catch up in 5 lines. You can actually say quite a lot in just 5
lines, you know.

I will say that I was quite concerned today, because I was in a
building that was being evacuated due to a suspicious something or
other outside. To get to my cab, I had to slide under two sets of
police tape. I don't remember the last time I had to do that.
anyone else done anything crazy today?
If you have, let's hear it.
Last line: Yesterday, my sister in-law came over to watch Eastenders
with me and the wife, and find out who killed Lucy.

If so, wow.

That is all.

been far more eventful. On March 7, the 82nd Academy Awards were held

dozens watched as the pioneers of the cinematic world gave each other
Oscar statuettes forged in the fires of sweet buttery pop corn and
sticky theater floors. The John Zone shall therefore commemorate this

It has been widely disseminated that yesterday was International
Women’s Day, but perhaps just as significantly, March 8 also happened
to be the anniversary of the first airing of the iconic classic,
Beavis and Butt-Head, which premiered seventeen years ago yesterday.
Honoring both separately would be easy enough, but wouldn’t it be even
more enjoyable to combine the two? Yes, this can be done.

There are also many a birthday of note: including Bow Wow, 23; Chingy,

More Texas-related recordings, a new mashup from Jeffrey Rainey,
vintage incrimination from a 13-year-old me, your requests, comments,

(and

this one
and every other one ignore these sorts of petitions because, even
if every

their market to matter as far as sales or whatever. And in the
case of the

but the
fact is that 90% of their clientel is government contracts. So
they can
pretty much do whatever, and the other AT companies will

The Talk2 List A Funny

2008-07-23 Thread Brandon Hicks

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?
GEORGE W BUSH
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to
know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is
either against us or for us. There is no middle ground here.

COLIN POWELL
Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image
of the chicken crossing the road.

HANS BLIX
We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been
allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

JOHN KERRY
Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road I am now against it!
RALPH NADER
The chicken's habitat on the other side of the road had been polluted by
unchecked industrial greed. The chicken did not reach the unspoiled
habitat on the other side of the road because it was crushed by the
wheels of a gas-guzzling SUV.

PAT BUCHANAN
To steal the job of a decent, hard-working American.
RUSH LIMBAUGH
I don't know why the chicken crossed the road, but I'll bet it was
getting a government grant to cross the road, and I'll bet that somebody
out there is already forming a support group to help chickens with
crossing-the-road syndrome. Can you believe this? How much more of this
can real Americans take? Chickens crossing the road paidfor by their tax
dollars. And when I say tax dollars, I'm talking about your money, money
the government took from you to build a road for chickens to cross.

MARTHA STEWART
No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a
standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price
dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information

JERRY FALWELL
Because the chicken was gay --- isn't it obvious? Can't you people see
the plain truth in front of your face? The chicken was going to the
other side. That's what they call it, the other side. Yes, my
friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will
become gay too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this
abomination that the liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless
phrases like the other side.

DR SEUSS
Did the chicken cross the road?
Did he cross it with a toad?
Yes, the chicken crossed the road,
but why it crossed I've not been told
ERNEST HEMINGWAY
To die in the rain. Alone.
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR
I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads
without having

their motives called into question.
GRANDPA
In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told
us the chicken

crossed the road, and that was good enough.
BARBARA WALTERS
Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the
chicken tell,
for the first time, the heart-warming story of how it experienced a
serious case
of molting, and went on to accomplish its life-long dream of crossing
the road.

JOHN LENNON
Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together - in peace.
ARISTOTLE
It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.
KARL MARX
It was an historic inevitability.
RONALD REAGAN
What chicken?
CAPTAIN KIRK
To boldly go where no chicken has ever gone before.
SIGMUND FREUD
The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road
reveals

your underlying sexual insecurity.
BILL GATES
I have just witnessed eChicken2004, which will not only cross roads, but
will lay
eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook.
Internet Explorer

is an integral part of eChicken.
ALBERT EINSTEIN
Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the
chicken?

BILL CLINTON
I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of
chicken?

AL GORE
I invented the chicken.
THE BIBLE
And God came down from heaven, and He said unto the chicken THOU SHALT
CROSS THE

ROAD. And the chicken didst cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road
construction, you may live in Canada

If you have more miles on your snow blower than your car, you may live
in Canada .

If you find 2 degrees a little chilly, you may live in Canada

If you actually understand these jokes, and forward them to all your
Canadian friends others, you definitely live in Canada

The Talk2 List Sorry...

2008-01-21 Thread Brandon Hicks

Hi all,
For those wondering why there is no Heavily Influenced, I messed up. I
didn't expect to be in town as long as I was, resulting in me getting
home 40 minutes into the slot.
Also, I'm having ATA trouble and haven't got any of the softphones set
up properly, and to do so would take about 10 minutes and it just
wouldn't be worth it. There will be a make up at some point this week,
stay tuned for more info.

Again I'm sorry

The Talk2 List No Heavily Influenced Tomorrow

2008-01-06 Thread Brandon Hicks

Hello,

Just want to inform everyone that hasn't read my LJ that I am again
feeling like crap, and it wouldn't be fair to the listeners to do a show
when I can't give it my best effort. As a result, unless this clears up
by tomorrow before the show, there will be no heavily influenced. Stay
tuned to TBRN messengers.

The Talk2 List More Christmas programming

2007-12-24 Thread Brandon Hicks

Hey all,
Be sure to stay tuned to TBRN right after WDGLFM for a christmas edition
of Heavily Influenced.
The radio thing isn't going to work due to circumstances beyond my
control, namely not knowing when it'll start or what station it'll be
on, and I have a feeling I'm going to be upstairs at that point doing
family things.
So stay tuned to the Beyond Radio Network for christmas the metalhead
way with Brandon H.

The Talk2 List Mixed up Saturday

2007-12-14 Thread Brandon Hicks

Hi listers!!

Tomorrow, WDGLFM will not be on, due to problems and a general lack of
existance in the proper place. Darren Duff and the Duff Domain will be
filling in for him.

That's not all, Andre Louis will be gone away to parts unknown, and I
myself, Brandon H will fill in for his vennorable presence. So check out
the Duff Domain and Heavily Influenced, in place of WDGL FM and the
Louis Bin tomorrow, starting at 2 eastern on

http://tbrn.net:/tbrn.ogg

Happy listening

The Talk2 List Blart Cover

2007-12-08 Thread Brandon Hicks

Hello people,
I'd just like to announce that Heavily Influenced will cover for Blart
Radio while Steve is dealing with things.

After the cover of Blart, Heavily Influenced will be back, taking the
slot of Raynbo until she comes back. After that happens, Heavily
Influenced will be back to its usual slot.

So stay tuned, crappy high-pitched noise and all until I can make it die!

Bye for now

The Talk2 List Drunk broadcast tonight

2007-10-06 Thread Brandon Hicks

Hi all.
Just wanted to let everyone know that there will probably, if I remember
to do it, be a drunken Heavily Influenced with two friends tonight.
If my drunken self doesn't get streamed, it will be recorded in some
fashion.
So tune in to tbrn.net:/tbrn.ogg tonight at 10 Eastern if you want
to hopefully see me make a complete fool out of myself.

The Talk2 List Possibly an Eloquence mispronounce

2007-08-19 Thread Brandon Hicks

Hi.

Just got a message from someone referring to a Bada. I'm reasonably sure
Eloquence was being used. Not having access to the one used in JFW, I
can't say if bada and beta sound the same or if this guy was just an idiot.

The Talk2 List A free show

2007-08-18 Thread Brandon Hicks

Hi all.

Since WDGL FM is not going to be showing up today, I will take the
oportunity to do an unscheduled show for 3 hours. As per usual, I'll be
playing a few chapters of Ice Station, as well as the usual mix of metal
and rock of various types, breaking things and stumbling awkwardly from
subject to subject.

Tune in from 2 to 5 PM eastern today for Heavily Influenced on TBRN.

Later

Re: The Talk2 List Eloquence Piss list!

2007-08-11 Thread Brandon Hicks

.Hi.
It's interesting to note that ESpeak falls for a few of those as well,
but most of them are easily told apart, and it uses propper English.
Of course with my typing, and no confirmation of what I'm actually
backspacing and no way to read this, I'll be making afew screw-ups as
well, but not as bad as elocraps.

The Talk2 List another random show

2007-08-05 Thread Brandon Hicks

Hello all.

If you're into metal and rock music, random stuff being said and awkward
pauses while I scramble for stuff to say, tune into tbrn right now, for
a random edition of Heavily Influenced. It may last all night, it may go
two hours. It all depends on the listeners. You should be one.

Sorry for the sad pathetic promo thing, but I am on, and I would like
listeners.
