Re: Sub-filters?..
On Thursday, August 05, 2004 it appears that Allie Martin wrote the following in regards to Sub-filters?..: does anyone know what sub-filters are and how we could use them? (Presumably some-one wants them, else how did they get on the feature list in the first place?) AM Without documentation I'd be speculating. However, logically, the AM following should be the case: AM Without subfilters, TB! currently takes each message through the AM filters and sequentially looks for a filter match starting from the AM filter at the top and working downwards. The first matching filter is AM applied and nothing further is done with that message unless the AM initial matching filter has 'continue processing with other filters AM enabled'. AM Subfilters seem to offer the ability to create a fork in the sequence. Hi Allie. I assumed the same thing(s) about sub-filers tried one w/o much luck. Problem is that it was part of a multiple filter structure, i.e. x or y or z, then move to folder with continue filtering to sub-filter to change color. I think there are problems with debug filters I think I know there are problems with change color so it's hard to know if subfilter is working or not. -- Jan Rifkinson Ridgefield CT USA TB! v2.13 Lucky Beta/2 W2K v5.0 Service Pack 4 Current beta is 2.13 'Lucky' Beta/2 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

KZ Noone can confirm? 9 Search in VF isn't implemented, sorry for delay Thanks, Val. Is it going to be implemented? Second issue I have - since opening a folder 20K messages in my TB! at work takes ages I had to do some shaman dances with folders ( ). I'm trying to keep messages only for last month (it's around 4K messages for me). First I've created a VF with a filter to show messages for past 31 days, but since search in VF is not implemented yet I had to create a normal filter (old one) to move all messages older than 31 days to Archive. Now I'm seeing a glitch, at least I think it's a glitch - in a filter I've set Message is older than 31 days, but messages *created* on 24 Jun and *received* on 12 Jul are still in the folder. Let me explain - I've been on vacation and received the mail on Jul 12th, so my guess is - filter looks at *received* and not on *created* date, which is wrong, no? VF behaves correctly in this case - looks at *created* date. Another large suggestion regarding the filters...
Greetings. I wonder how much it would be possible to implement - you RIT guys won't probably be going to remake the filters again anytime soon, so it's the final moment I can suggest it... Right now, the nice new filter structure editor allows for creating filters. If (this field) matches (this regexp) then proceed with move here and do this. Right? It would only need a tiny little parser... and changing the filter editor into a code generator... and it could all look like this: clicking all the edit fields would produce this text: IF sender REGEXP [EMAIL PROTECTED] AND recipient CONTAINS foo THEN MARK AS parked AND MOVE TO Inbox\blehbleh Why all this? First of all, it could be much more easily copied and pasted and corrected. And second of all, it's only a tiny little step from: IF sender REGEXP [EMAIL PROTECTED] AND recipient CONTAINS foo THEN MARK AS parked AND MOVE TO Inbox\blehbleh AND BEGIN IF MARKED AS important THEN PLAY SOUND burp.wav END I can write the specification of such a script, or even write the parser for it, if you want... :P -- |\ /| \~~~/ \~~~/ | \/ | /\ \~/ ICQ# 3146019 || /__\ /___\ /_\ /___\IQ# 3.14159 Random Broken English: Wearing this does not enable you to fly (on a child's Superman costume).
