V Hello Paul,

The tabs are a filter but you have the view locked on a message that
is not in the filter so you need to move off (unlock) the message in
 focus.

V Just to convince you: if you have a message list tab, e.g. messages
V with yellow color, and you dont have yellow mails in a folder, and
V you click on that message tab, the focused mail shows up... I go to
V the restroom, come back, and Hey, I have a yellow mail in my
V folder... Wrong.

V PS: Restroom break represents a 2 min non-TB! break while my
V short term memory loses the info that focused mail will be shown in
V all message tabs. :)))

Hey, Villi, are you talking about a minor issue with the message tabs
where if I select, for example, the unread tab and have no unread
messages the focused message appears in the list instead of an empty
message tab?

If so (I was too lazy to read the entire thread) and IF you consider
this a bug, I'm subscribing your opinion.

Yes, I think there are two separate issues here. Lets say you have a
tab labeled important. When you select that tab the currently selected
message is also included in the displayed message list even if it does
not belong. I think this is a bug.

On the other hand if you are viewing your important list and change

GF Why not?

Mainly because it is very disconcerting to have messages just
disappear for no apparent reason. Take for example the situation where
you set up an Unread tab. You also have it set so that messages are
marked as read after 10 seconds. You start to read the message, get
half way through, the message gets marked as read and disappears from

This used to happen every time TB looked for new messages and the

You read the first message in the thread. You then read the second and

having the view display only unread messages at all times, even while

How the virtual folder view handles this issue is the way it really

You could try the Windows backup utility. Start | All Programs |
Accessories | System Tools | Backup.

It is basically the same softwaare as Veritas Backup Exec (just start it
and select Help, About), one of the premier backup solutions for Windows
(especially servers) that sells at about $500 for a single server license.

This is a really nice piece of software that is often forgotten, or
underestimated. It makes use of the Shadow Copy function in XP/2003 to back
up open system files, etc. etc. - really worth checking out.

I don't make regular backups, but using NTBackup and an external USB
harddisk makes it quite easy to make a complete system recovery backup.

Reply/forward date macro formats hosed again?

2005-09-18 Thread Dimitry Andric
With 3.61.05, I've re-encountered a problem that I thought long dead.
The %ODATESHORT at %OTIMELONG (and possibly the other date/time
macros, I don't use them though) started returning the system default
date format, instead of the format I selected in Control Panel.

Can this PLEASE be fixed again???

I'm reverting to 3.61.03, not only because of this, but also IMAP
counters have gone completely crazy in this version. :(

If it goes on like this, I'll definitely have to give up on The Bat
entirely. It starts to suck more with each release.

In the account properties it says that it's using regular pop3

So I guess it's the interface that is at fault, but not the setiing.
