Re: [5.1] Read Filters don't trigger

2012-04-16 Thread MAU
Hello Roger,

M Can someone confirm? Is it perhaps a known issue?

In version 5 the read filters are only triggered by the smart 'Space
bar' action to move to another message. Marking as 'Read' by any other
action has no effect. I have protested to Stefan Tanurkov about this
 change, but to no avail.

Oh no! :-(

After years of using the Space bar (on the Message List) instead of
Ctrl+M to mark a message as read and properly triggering Read filters I
now have to change my whole set up. I don't like this because, among
other things, many times the messages I am reading are short enough so
that, to read them, I don't even have to change focus to the message
pane and use the smart Space bar to scroll them. Just read them and,
when done, hit Space to mark it as read.

Anyway, I will have to do some more testing but I have returned the
'Mark message as read' to default Ctrl+M and tried using the 'Smart
Space' and my Read filters still don't trigger. Also, if the message I'm
reading is the last one in the Message List, smart Space doesn't move to
any other message. Would the Read filters trigger in this case?

[5.1] Replied filters trigger too early

2012-04-16 Thread MAU
Hello all,

Similarly to the Read filters I reported yesterday, I use a set of
Replied filters, also based in AB groups, that move both the replied
message and the reply to appropriated folder.

Just a while ago I was replying to a message from my brother. I quoted a
first paragraph and wrote my reply to it and, when I switch to the
message pane to select and quote another paragraph... Uh! Where is the
message I was replying to! Has it just disappeared? No, Replied filters
had been triggered and my brother's message had already been moved from
Inbox-Known to his personal folder.

I don't know if what I have called 'Replied filters triggering too
early' is a bug or if it is WAD in v5. In any case, I think it should be
fixed (or changed if WAD). Aside of the problem of loosing sight of the
message being replied, what if when I am half done with my reply I
decide to Cancel my reply?

SB What happened to https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/ ? Is there a new URL

Ritlabs switched to a new host and there appear to be some problems
 with getting bugtraq online.

RIT, any news when it will be back up?

This Beta forum will become just hot air if you don't monitor it nor

preventing me moving (and paying for) 5.1.

Re: [5.1] Replied filters trigger too early

2012-04-16 Thread MAU
Hello MAU,

I don't know if what I have called 'Replied filters triggering too
early' is a bug or if it is WAD in v5.

After some more testing I have verified that too early means 'the
first time the reply I'm writing is Auto-saved'. This certainly didn't
happen with v4.2.44.2 that I was using till I upgraded to 5.1 yesterday.

There are actually two sides to this issue:
1.- The message I'm replying to is marked as replied (envelope with
green corner icon) as soon as the reply is Auto-saved the first time.
This may bot be new to v5.1, I think I've seen it happen with v4 also.

2.- Replied filters are triggered, and action taken if conditions are
met, as soon as the reply is Auto-saved the first time. This I can
assure didn't happen in v4. I don't know if it is new to v5.1 or if it
was introduced in any of the previous v5 betas.

As with Read filters, I will open a BT report as soon as BT is up and
running again.

These two issues with Read and Replied filters are quite an
inconvenience for me, to the point that I may decide to revert to
version v4.2.44.2.

M It seems to be dependant on the folder View Mode.

 In what way?

Well, at first sight it seemed that it would not work if the view mode
was Generic or any other unthreaded view mode, and it would work if the
view was threaded by reference. But after changing view mode a number of
times to confirm this, I have seen Smart space failing on the last
message using a threaded view mode. However, I have yyet to see it work
with Generic or any unthreaded view mode.

2012-04-16 Thread MAU
Hello MAU,

When I mark a message as read, ii is marked as read but not moved to any
folder. However, doing a manual re-filter does move the messages fine.

After trying different ways and shorcuts to mark a message as read, I
can confirm that, at least here, Read filters are never triggered. They
only work with a manual re-filter.

I will open a BT report as soon as BT is up and running again.

 version v4.2.44.2.

Decided and done, see my signature.

Now Read filters are triggered when I mark a message as read, as it
should be.

Now Replied filters are NOT triggered and the message I'm replying to is
NOT marked as replied when the reply is Auto-saved . These two things
happen ONLY when I 'Send the message' or 'Put message in the Outbox', as
it should be.

It started analyzing just yet when I fired up TheBat! all by itself so I was

want, read: junk so far so good. But how do I deal with this analyze thing?

Right now I'm kinda confused. ;)
