Re: 3.0.9.5 Return is now available

2005-03-12 Thread Charlene Ferrara
Dear Marck,
dear Stefan,

Friday, March 11, 2005
you let us know -at least in parts- :

CF Access violation at address 0059DA9A in module 'thebat.exe'. Read of
address 000C.

These are the showstoppers for me. I only have to open the ticker
virtual folder and I seem to be inundated with cascading AVs after a
 few seconds.
I can fully subscribe to your point!

I have encountered this problem only if my old mailbase (old= 1,6GB from
Versions 2.x and above) is restored. When I uninstal all of TB (each and
every folder, reg-settings and and and) then reinstall it properly from
last stable major version and do not import my mailbase (just my
addressbook) I can run even 3.09.4 -without AVs at least. I simply have
to trash my mailbase and might be able to participate of the new code.
Now I can not betatest any further, real avalanches of the shown AVs
show up directly with the splashscreen. For me that's no way to go, too.
Either the codeweavers have to find out what is going wrong with it or I
am determined to use V 3.02.08. I this case I would better change my
client.

My except.log shows the following:
 /Charlene 11.03.2005 19:34:04 GifImage:5 EReadError Stream read error
 /Charlene 11.03.2005 21:36:28 GUIDEF:Item [mAppMinimise] is linked to unknown
 property [unknown]
 /Charlene 11.03.2005 21:36:28 GUIDEF:Item [mAppMinimise] is linked to unknown
 property [unknown]
 /Charlene 11.03.2005 21:36:28 GUIDEF:Cannot bind layout item
 [mwDownloadWizards] to property collection [MailerForm]

But that was probably before 3.0.9.5, the latest version might not have
been able to write its log.

I expect TB to be at least downward compatible to all versions, I am not
willing to dump my mails for some new features.

In 3.0.9.4 Rit announced a better combining of split mails which I was
real curious of. Remember, I had and still have troubles in receiving
split mails. TB freezes and gets inaccessible, and I am not the only
one.

Please, Stef, do something!

2005-03-12 Thread MAU
Hello Marck,

I only have to open the ticker virtual folder and I seem to be
inundated with cascading AVs after a few seconds.

Although Mail Ticker was one of the features that really called my
attention when I first run into TB years ago, I don't use it at all.
However I have just now tested what you say and I don't get any AVs at
all.

If you and other people get the AVs there certainly must be something
wrong with TB. However, I have always wondered (and still do) why some
times some people get AVs and some others don't in _apparently_ the same
circumstances.

It's great that you can choose themes now, but I'd like an option to not
adjust the images according to theme, since these images don't look good
when the theme redraws them. Also, there's a rendering problem in Tristan
and Tristan2 themes (see attachment). I know that Dialog (a newsreader that
also uses TBX) had the same problem, but it was later fixed there.

been removed or moved somewhere else that I haven't found. Any chance
of bringing that back. I for one, found it kind of handy.

Mattan Englishman, Scottsman and Irishman are sitting in a pub together and each
orders a Guinness. After waiting the requisite time for the proper pouring, the
three Guinnesses arrive at their table.
Just then, three flies that came in with the Frenchman at the next table
simultaneously take a dive, separately into each man's drink. The trio are
taken aback for a second but regain their composure.
The Englishman waves to the bar maiden and asks for a fresh pint.
The Scottsman plucks the fly from his Guinness and he continues drinking.
But the Irishman grabs the fly, holds it above his drink and shouts SPIT IT
OUT YA BASTARD! SPIT IT OUT!

So a grasshopper walks into a bar and jumps up on a stool. The bartender comes
over and says Hey, you know we have a drink named after you. And the

Walks into a bar Joke #02:

A man walks into a bar with a dog. The bartender says Hey buddy, can't you
read that sign? It says no dogs allowed! Get that mutt outta here! The man
replies No, I can't read the sign - I'm blind, and this is my seeing eye dog.
The bartender is very flustered, and gives the man a beer on the house as way
of an apology.

So later that day this guy is telling his friend about it - I told him I was
blind and I got a free beer!. And the friend takes his dog into the bar and
sits down, and the bartender says The sign says no dogs allowed! Get out with
that thing! The friend says I can't read the sign, I'm blind and this is my
seeing eye dog. Bartender replies Since when do they give out Chihuahuas as
seeing eye dogs? The man says They gave me a Chihuahua?!!?!

A really sloppy drunk is draped over the bar. The bartender
tells him, OK, you've had enough. I'm not going to serve you
anymore, so get out of here and go home.

The drunk leaves the bar. Ten minutes later the drunk comes
back in through the back door. The bartender tells him, I
told you to go home, I'm not serving you anything more,
you've had enough, now go home.

The drunk leaves again.

Ten minutes later the drunk comes back in through a side
door. Again, the bartender tells him, Man, I told you,
you're wasted. I'm not serving you anymore, now go home,
you've had enough.

Again, the drunk leaves.

Fifteen minutes later the drunk comes back through another
side door. The bartender says, What the hell is the matter
with you? I keep telling you, you've had enough already, and
I'm not going to serve you anymore, now go home!

The drunk looks up at the bartender and asks, How many
places do you work at?

A hunter shoots a duck out of the air and it lands inside a fence. When he
jumps the fence to retrieve it a rancher comes out of his house and says, Hold
on there, partner. That duck's on my property, it belongs to me.

The hunter says, But I shot the duck. I'm sorry it landed in your fence, but
it belongs to me.

Nothing doing, says the rancher. That duck is mine.

I've got an idea, the hunter said. I'll challenge you for it. I'll kick you
in the nuts, then you kick me in the nuts, and we'll go back and forth until
someone gives up. The winner gets the duck.

Okay, sounds good the rancher said. So the hunter squares up on him and with
all his might lands a crushing blow right to the ranchers balls. The rancher
goes down, wailing in agony, rolling on the ground and turning blue. After a
minute or two of whimpering in excruciating pain the rancher gets up and says,
That was a pretty good shot, but now it's my turn.

The hunter says, Nah, on second thought, you can have the duck.

A woman walks into a bar and asks for a double entendre. So the bartender gives

My problem isn't with sending attachments. It's with opening
and saving them.

I don't have attachments in received messages displayed in a
pane. I have them displayed as a button that appears in the
header bar. Click on the button and the attachments are
listed.

To switch attachment viewing methods, go to the View menu
and then to the 'Attached Files' submenu.

Additionally, I'm stuck in that non-functioning button mode
and can't switch to another viewing method.

A showstopper at this stage, so no IMAP testing until that
is fixed.

Right.

 Also:
 - why show 'Pane on ...' when 'Show as a Pane' is not selected?

IMO, The Pane on options should really be a submenu of the Show

 - 'Large icons' or 'Small icons' doesn't show which one is supposed to
 be active.
