The internal is the default backup.

TBManager also backup Windows register keys and some settings from
program directory.

Now the TBManager site is stolen from porn spammer but you can find
info and download here

Mackley: thank you for the link!

The Manufacturers URL points to a Site which offers Phone Sex.
I did not test, if the Program itself is downloadable.

My German is not so good ... darn, I missed it!. OK, I found it, but
too expensive from USA LOL. Anyway, this is a very cool little program
and I will try it out. I have had TB backup fail before using OTFE and
it would be nice to have another Bat backup program!

Discussion on how to upgrade successfully to the new version (was: Re: 4.0.34.11)

2008-09-27 Thread mse
Hello all,

some experiences regarding upgrade to .11:

1)
As Marek wrote on Friday evening, creating a backup on .7, exchanging
thebat.exe to .11 and restoring the previously created backup did not
work. I checked that and I can confirm, that performing these
operations only results in empty message bases, i.e. The Bat shows the
folders but they don't contain any messages.

2)
I also tried exchanging thebat.exe as I usually do and restarting The
Bat afterwards. All the folders were still present, and every message
was still there. A new message index in MESSAGES.TBN was created on
startup. When this file was deleted, it was recreated on startup
again. When MESSAGES.TBI was deleted it had no effect. So apparently,
simply exchanging thebat.exe is the best way to upgrade to the new
version.

Marek, is there a way you especially suggest?
Those who upgraded successfully, how did you do it?
Those who couldn't upgrade, what did you try?

Best regards,
mse

My experience:
Everytime I get a new beta here, I perform two backups: with internal
tool and with TBManager
http://www.freeware-archiv.de/TBManager-eMail.htm
Then I replace the .exe file.

Why two backups?
