Please try when you will have a chance, because you are the only user
where The Bat! can retriev only one messsage from each folder via MAPI.

I had a quick look today, but no real time to write down my findings, so
this is from memory.

The latest version still does not download the messages. It does appear to
cycle thought them (about 2000 in 7 folders) but stated something like the
messages were not new.

The other copy different machine will download the messages.

I will try and do a better report tomorrow.

Is this a problem throughout all folders? If so, have you tried deleting

2006-01-28 Thread Vili
Hello Greg,

The Bat! 3.70.06 Qigong (Beta) is now available from:
 http://www.ritlabs.com/en/tbbeta/
Why do I receive the Windows - No Disk question when using TB backup
tool? (Note: See attached PNG file)
This occurs when I do a backup manually or through the scheduler. The
program is looking at my floppy drive because the disk light goes on
when the question is asked. I am backing up the TBK file to an
extended partition so this seems to be a program error. This occurs
when I either create or update the backup. This problem is compounded
when attempting to use the scheduler because manual intervention is
 required.
Confirmations? TB bug or Windows configuration issue?

I tried manually and automacally also to back up something to my C:
drive. It works...

I had exactly the same problem with version 04 last week, it just
suddenly started happening and, as I have a scheduled back up every
night, it was more than annoying. I eventually rebooted and it all went
away and haven't had it since. I back up to an external HD on G: drive
but it kept asking to put a CD in the D: drive. I think another
programme left a legacy of some sort that made TB! ask that because the
reboot cleared it all up and no problems since. I've just done a full
back up with no problem at all.

BTW 9Val, this reminds me of a tiny and minor bug that I think has
always existed with this confirmation dialog but that I have never
reported.

I have my mouse configured so that the pointer will be automatically
placed over the default button on this type of dialogs. I think this
(the confirmation dialog to mark a folder as read when it has
sub-folders) is about the only one I have found where the mouse pointer
is not automatically moved. Taking advantage that you are going to
change this :-)

Well I've rebooted several times. The problem still persists.
I've just done a full back up with no problem at all.
Either it is my installation of TB, another program causing TB
problems with the backup, or who knows. The problem persists and do
not have a clue on the solution. :(

Check this registry entries:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!\Last backup pathRelative
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!\Last backup path

At me they are:
%EXEDRIVE%\nyomtatando\
and

Hello Greg,

 Check this registry entries:
 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!\Last backup pathRelative
 and
 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!\Last backup path
 At me they are:
 %EXEDRIVE%\nyomtatando\
 and
 C:\Vili\

Neither keys exist, so I added both with the following values:
 %EXEDRIVE%\temp\
 X:\TBArchives\TB_bu
No luck, still receive Windows - No Disk question. :(

Instead of
X:\TBArchives\TB_bu
write
X:\TBArchives\TB_bu\
there...

Still nothing?

Tell us step by step, what you are doing? I mean, what happens when
you set C:\1.tbk as the backup file?

You were advised to use
X:\TBArchives\TB_bu\%DATE(-mm-dd).tbk.
type macros earlier this week. Isn't this is the problem?

So, when you manually set C:\1.tbk , still get the error message?

Ahh One more idea: maybe, it is NOT the destination file that is
problematic, but one of your account maybe somehow points to the drive
that does not exist anymore. (Cause can be that somehow Voyager -if
you use- overwrote something?)

Try this:
select only one account, AND uncheck backup of the address book. If it
works, try to add backup of address book, and other accounts until the
error message appears.

However, I must confirm the new feature is buggy. When I uncheck the
marking folder as read confirmation dialog, this only has effect on
folders that contain no sub-folders. (And it's irrelevant whether
those subfolders contain any unread messages or not: the confirmation
dialog keeps popping up despite being unchecked.)

So, we need a non-buggy NEVER ask me about marking folders OR SUBFOLDERS
as read configuration checkbox.

Thank you very much in advance!
