Re: S/MIME cetificate error?

It is signed, but my TB! as well as all those other clients don't have the root and intermediate certificates that were used to sign your personal certificate. As you probably have your TB! on the machine where you requested and installed your certificate, the import process will likely have added those to your configuration. But that does this for TB! and possibly the browser that was used to fetch the certificate only. You will need to at least have the root and intermediate certificates installed into the other programs before they will recognize your certificate as valid. Also, this may pose a problem with recipients such as us. In order to to be able to verify your certificate, everyone that receives mail from you needs to install two CA certificates, including one root-certificate an therefore everyone also needs to decide whether they trust the organization that you decided to get your certificate from. -- Greetings, Maurice Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3 The Bat! v4.2.16 Christmas Edition; ; AJS v65535.65535; MyMacros 1.11a; Current beta is 4.2.16.1 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

4.2.16: No suggestions with CSAPI dictionaries
Hello all, First of all... Happy New Year! I haven't been following or installing the latest betas. Yesterday I upgraded to 4.2.16 from the last version I had installed, 4.2.10.1 Everything seemed fine until I started to write my first message with this new version. I use CSAPI dictionaries (have used them for years) and the automatic spell checking option. Spell checking works fine and wrongly spelled words are underlined in red. But when right clicking on a wrong word, I only got (no suggestions) in the context menu. This happened with the two languages I use, British English and Spanish. I tried with SSCE dictionaries and I got plenty of suggestions. I have reverted to 4.2.10.1 and suggestions work fine now. Anybody else using CSAPI who could verify the suggestions problem I had with 4.2.16? TIA -- Best regards, Miguel A. MAPI Handler (was Re: 4.2.16.2)
For quite some time, The Bat has lost the ability to handle MAPI requests. All was fine until I got a new computer and had to do a fresh install (in other words, just performing upgrades kept TB as the MAPI handler, but a fresh install no longer has the ability) Help still shows the ability to install TB as the simple MAPI request handler, but when I go to Options - Preferences - Applications, there is no longer a button to make TB the MAPI handler. Is this feature gone forever or has it moved and help has not been updated??? Thank you PS - thanks for fixing the HTML quotation issue - that was a real pain. -- Best regards, Jimmailto:t...@refcloset.com Current beta is 4.2.16.2 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: S/MIME cetificate error?
Hello Maurice, I know that the certificate only appears valid when the root and intermediate certificates are there. The problem here is that it seems that there is some kind of message format error. If the message format was ok, the signature would show as not valid. But the mail client would be able to read the signature. In my case the mail is somehow broken, at least for Squirrelmail and this Linux mail client I mentioned in my first mail. Re: S/MIME cetificate error?
Hello again, ok, it's a issue with the current TheBat! version. when sending a mail to a friend who is using TheBat, too - he sees the attached error message. The friend I was talking about upgraded from 4.1.11 to 4.2.16 Final right now. Before, signed mails from him were fine in Squirrelmail and everywhere else, now signed mails from him are broken as my mails. Inside TheBat the mails look fine. Interesting is, that my mails, which were shown as invalid with a red cross in my friends 4.1.11 TheBat are now shown as valid in the 4.2.16 Final version.
