If there is no To: address already defined (%If '%To=') then make the
To: address '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' (;%TO=[EMAIL PROTECTED]).
IF there is a To: address defined, then make the address the T0: address
defined (;%To=%To); in other words, don't change the To: address if one
is already defined.

Hmmm. Upon testing it, it doesn't work when I create a new message using
an e-mail address within a message. I guess the To: address isn't assigned
before the %IF macro is processed.

Either it starts your coffee machine and resets your VCR, or it sets
the TO field (recipient) of your email to TBUDL@... if, and only if,
there is nothing in that field (i.e. no other recipient already

Hello Dierk,

While I can appreciate the politeness of this type of template usage
when responding to someone's deliberate request for some sort of response,
I must say that I don't feel the same way towards advertising that tries
to personalize in this way.

In fact, it quite irritates me when I receive junk mail with my name
inserted into strategic places. This trick doesn't fool me, and I would
be surprised if many people outside the advertising industry really think
it's particularly polite. I, for one, do not.

Yes, and I would subscribe to the points you made. My points were a
bit tongue-in-cheek; Mallorca has never been on my agenda (don't

Hi Charlie,

CL Hi, i was just wondering if its possible to do a search to find a
CL certain letter according to the name of the attachment it has?

The Bat! only has an option in search for an messages with attachments
based on the size of the attachment, not the name. :-(

CL I've sent off an email w/attachment .gif to several people, now i'd
CL like to find it again and resend it to some other people. I tried a
CL search simply for all emails with attachments, and then manually
CL hunted for the attachment i wanted, but i couldn't find it.

Wouldn't it be easier to search for all SENT messages to a certain
individual to whom you sent the attachment and then scroll through the
results and view the messages that have the paper clip to the side of it
indicating that there was an attachment?

Good luck.

Hello Charlie,

On Tuesday, July 03, 2001 10:14:32 [ +1000 GMT], you wrote the
following in regards to 'search by attachment name?':

Charlie Hi, i was just wondering if its possible to do a search to find a

The TB! search function (F7) permits a search for something
(name.gif) anywhere. I would think that should pull it up for
you. Once you've found the file you can save the attachment to
your desktop (for ex) by putting your cursor on the attachment
using the enter key. Then it becomes available to you for
attachment to whomever else you want to send it to.

Charlie I tried a search simply for all emails with attachments,
Charlie and then manually hunted for the attachment i wanted, but i
Charlie couldn't find it.

Access Violations

2001-07-04 Thread Vincent - D. Ertner

Hi Co-Batties,

since 1.5x (W2K, SP1/2) I get permanent access violations -
especially when it's minimized to tray ... something like

Exception EAccessViolation in module TheBat.EXE at ...

I still hoped it would vanish one day - but it remains
(1.53d). Anyone else?

Cheers,

Vince

Me too. Sometimes when I close TB, sometimes at random.
Once, I got a whole load of them opening the one after the
other, and the only way to close TB was via the task
manager.

I'm using Win2K SP2 and the latest Bat...no problems here. I'm pretty
sure I installed it as admin..not sure if that would affect what
you're seeing.

I installed it - and am running it - as admin too ... ;-(

I can't imagine that it's W2K as previous versions (esp.
1.4x) ran fine ... a bug? A leak?

Cheers,

Vince
