a workaround to collapse (nearly) *all* threads easily is to press

Alt+0, Alt+1

this switches between unthreaded and threaded mode, and as a

TB already has a stop on allowing you to open double-extension
files.

If you really need to, you can pick up the filename using a filter to
pick up the double extension attachment in the message headers and use
regular expressions if you need to dig it out of the text of the
message using something like:

'Content-Type: .* name=.*\\'

Need a RegEx

2001-09-24 Thread Raj

Fellow TB users,

I run my own placement company and have a web site.

I have provided a for an e-mail id where visitors can submit their resumes. While the
Web
site has its own Auto Responder, its not as neat and easy to compose Auto
Responders as
TB.

Hence I have created a filter which will send a simple Thank you note. Of late I
have
realized that some e-mail do NOT have a From Name. Its just the senders e-mail id.

In my reply template I have used

Dear %TOFNAME,

Hence in cases where there is no name the template does not read well.

What I want to do is create a RegEx if possible so that

In mails where there is a From Name I continue to address as above and in other
case
change it to Dear Owner of Email ID ( The E-mail id can be picked up from %FromAddr)

Thanks in advance.

If as you say you want to use the Full Name of a person for whom you have an

 %To=%to=%ABofromNAME %ABofromEmail

Check out the Address Related macros for more options.

I'm sorry. My original inquiry was misleading. Let's say I want to
address my mail message to Jack and Jill Horner. In my address book I
have the first name listed as Jack and Jill and the last name as
Horner. In my new and/or reply template, I have Hello %FName,. TB! the
writes (using the AB template) Hello Jack, not Hello Jack and Jill, as
I want it to. So my question is how to get the complete AB first name
string to follow my Hello greeting. The only way I've found that works
is to enter the first name in the AB as Jack_and_Jill.

After following your hint, I found Hello %ABTOFirstName to do the
trick.

PIM's/Email

2001-09-24 Thread Joseph N.

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

I *think* this was the list where there was some discussion about
PIM's and their connectivity to The Bat! If so, read on:

There were a few postings about Lotus Organizer. Organizer, at least
ver. 5.01, should be able to pass an email address directly to the
mail program. TB!, however, reads the command as opening up a new
session and pops up the login dialog box.

It is possible, however, to import all of Org's addresses into TB!'s
address book. Export from Organizer as vCards; import into TB! as
vCards. Voila. Depending on your purposes and the state of your Org
addressbook, you might want to click the email column in TB! and
delete the entries that do not have email addresses.

In my experiment, when I repeated the procedure the new entries
overwrote the old ones. However, I neglected to try it with a change
in the Organizer contact card. It might be necessary to cull by hand
or to make the changes in both places. That definitely reduces the
efficacy of the whole procedure, but it's better than cut and paste.

Yes, TBTECH was started for those discussions that may bore most of
the TBUDL subscribers with the technical topics. The subject of
Regular Expressions certainly fall within this category.

It's sort of being underutilized at present with a total of just over
1000 messages posted there since it's creation in January of this
year. There are quite a few discussions that occur here that would be
better suited there but are usually too short-lived to warrant a
recommendation to move it over to TBTECH.

TBTECH was created in an effort to stratify the list traffic so that
users of the list don't have to be subjected to an all or none type of
list discussion traffic, meaning you either get all the traffic
(technical and non-technical matters) or none at all. Users who wish
to use TB! as a personal client with average/standard queries can
subscribe to TBUDL while those with technical needs subscribe to
TBTECH. Those who wish to subscribe to both lists are perfectly free
to do so since this isn't intended to segregate users. There are many
who subscribe to both lists so the TBUDL subscribers need not worry
that there borderline technical queries will not be promptly answered.

IF there is a @ character in the %OFromName then...

JA Dear Owner of %OFROMADDR':'%-

...write Dear Owner of [EMAIL PROTECTED]

else...

JA Dear %OFROMFNAME'%-

write Dear Paul

R I still clueless at what this does But it serves my purpose and I am happy.

I translated it into English and hope it is a bit clearer now. The
trick is: if there is no Real Name in the from address, the makro
%OFromName will return the sender's address (as you have noticed).
Unless you know people with the @ character in their real names, any
match of this character in the value returned by the makro means that
there was no Real Name.
